"Kai wake up" aditya said cheerfully. As he removed the blanket from her face. As he saw her tear stained face and shock washed over him.
"Kai, my love please tell me what happened" he said as his voice barely above a whisper and she opened her eyes slightly. The fear from events of yesterday still palpable in her eyes.
She tried to hide her sadness with a weak smile as she tried to remove the tear stains from her cheeks. "Oh it's nothing just a bit overwhelmed by so much work". " kai please tell the truth i am your brother and either way I am not as protective as dad is" he remarked
She chuckled and replied to his remark, "says the guy who sneaked in my first ever date disguised as an old man just to see if the poor kid is serious about me or not". He chuckled and added " but hey on the positive side he was not serious about you and i being your older brother caught him". She shook her head in disbelief before launching a pillow towards him saying " what do you expect from a 13 years old adi"
"To not be on a date and study at home for probably a pre-algebra test tomorrow" he quipped in a bit of a serious tone
"Adi what would i do without you" she said between her giggles. "Where i am going?" He asked and she just hugged him.
As they embraced, relief washed over her and she knew no aaryan can hurt her until aditya is by her side and secured in the knowledge that she is never ever alone.
Aditya broke the embrace and told her "if someone hurt you ever again, I am the first person you are telling" his voice dripped with seriousness

As they were talking, their parents walked in and saw tears stained on kainaat's face and shock washed over them
"Kai what happened, did anyone hurt you?" her dad asked. " oh my god I am fine why is everyone keep asking me that" she protested. "Oh you should see how much I tried to make her spill the beans but she don't even say anything" aditya said while his tone dripped with resignation
"Hey you can count on me. I am not as protective as your brother" her dad said with hopes. "Tried that" aditya said his voice cutting through the hopes. "Do you want a hug?" Her dad asked with a new hope growing within him but aditya voice came again saying "mhm done that".
Mr kapoor gave him a stern look and aditya kept a finger on his lips signing a go on sign to his dad with his other hands. Their mom chuckled seeing that
"What happened sweetheart, you know you can tell us right?" Her dad said while looking in her eyes. Tears of gratitude welled up her eyes as she said "Dad I trust everyone you, adi, mom but I can't tell anything right now I just want to figure some things out and then I will tell you guys I promise"
"Pinky promise?" Aditya and her dad asked at the same time and she chuckled seeing that. "Pinky promise" she repeated but in an answering tone. They all 3 group hugged and kainaat told her mom to join with hands
