Before becoming an idol, ENHYPEN's Jia was a national-level athlete. She played multiple different sports ranging from basketball to golf and Judo.

Students who attend school with Jia have revealed that Jia was popular for her athleticism and grades. She's on her school's basketball team as a point guard and on the soccer team as a midfielder and a goalkeeper. And according to students, she's considered the best player.
Basketball is Jia's main sport and her favorite one to play. Having been playing since she was 9, her talent for the sport was realized at a young age. At only 12 years old, Jia became a national second-level athlete and then a national first-level athlete two years later at 14.

Jia was set to join China's women's national under-16 team and compete at the FIBA Under-16 Women's Asian Championship in 2021 before it was rescheduled due to the pandemic. K-netizens were stunned to learn that Jia was on the verge of joining China's national basketball team because it made them realize the extent of her skills.
