Then as Branch is tending the garden he sees a servant by the manor holding a invitation
Servant: I have a letter from the king
Branch: ok I will make sure that the owner of the manor receives it
Branch then goes to his stepfather's room while he is teaching his spoiled sons how to sing
Branch: *thinking* how can a pair of trolls be this bad at singing
Stepfather: Branch there has to be a good reason for you to waste our time with your existence
Branch: wow I love you too guys🙄 anyway I have this invitation from the King
Stepfather: then read it to us then
Branch: ok would have killed you too say please 🙄 anyway it says that King Peppy is holding a ball in honor of his daughter Princess Poppy and that she will take her hand in marriage with any eligible young men, regardless of status

Branch: *thinking* I would do anything to see that beautiful smile and hear her laugh (then he starts to blush about being with his girlfriend again) ☺️

Branch: what do you guys care the invention said any eligible young men, regardless of status

Branch then goes to do that even though he doesn't trust what his stepfather is saying and that there are some ulterior motives
