Forgive Me Father (For I Haven't Sinned)

Sharpen the swords and hone that blade
For our freedom they forbade
Can't afford to let my guard down
If I do that in their mess I'd drown
This is evil, they all say
Let them talk, words wither away
Get the armour and the shield
A call to arms, no one shall yield

They try to cut me deep
Skin me alive like a sheep
Suffocate me slowly
Drown me in my own blood
Make me pray for mercy to God
Do what you may, try as you wish
No one can kill what's already dead

Don't entangle me in a drama
In which I'm the villain
Forgive me Father
For I haven't even sinned
All I wanted was to live as I wish
Harming none
But they say innocence is gone
