At last, they had reunited. At last, they had broken free. At last, they were together and at home.
Their bikes were gathered on the ground, on top of each other. As for the riders, they sat happily, freely, and blissfully, in the caravan.
It was small and crowded with furniture. It was run down, and more times than not it stunk. But it was theirs. It was home.
Let me tell you something. Home isn't always four walls. It can have two eyes and a beating heart. But in this case, they were blessed enough to have both. They had walls and they had each other.
They didn't talk straight away. They sat. They breathed. They smiled.
Ezra placed an envelope center to them all. Zion sat up from his horizontal position. Kie's head straightened having it pressed back against the window. On the small bed, they stared at what they felt both fearful and drawn to.
Their breathing became slower and deeper- every inhale became apparent.
They continued to stare.
Zion coughed.
"It won't open by itself."
Ezra filled her lungs.
"No, it won't."
Kie dug her nails into her palms.
"So we open it."
"Right." Zion and Ezra agreed.
No one moved. Suddenly the air was sucked out of the room, and breathing proved to be all the more difficult. So for a moment, they stared. Nothing more. Nothing else. It was all they could do. It was all they did.
A sharp movement startled Kie and Ezra, as Zion braved the act of opening the envelope.
Shakily, his hands open the sealed flap, and he slowly withdrew the contents.
They swallowed.
Zion closed his eyes, which were partially covered by his short, blonde dreadlocks. The girl's gazes remained fixated on the page.
With his eyes still closed, Zion unfolded the paper. The writing he knew all too well, became his view.
"Ready?" He asked.
Ezra nodded.
Kie nodded.
Zion nodded.
