Match day

Todays match day and we play West Ham, again it's at Meadow Park so we don't have to rush anything
I arrived at the training centre and walked into the canteen, I sat down with my food at the usual table
"Match day today, how are we all feeling" Katie says as I sit down
"Excited but also nervous" I say before taking a bite of my food
"Why nervous?" Beth asks with a raised eyebrow. Shit. I can't tell her why, if I do she will absolutely freak out, I think she's Alex's biggest fan, excluding me of course
"I'm always nervous before a game just this one more than usual for some reason" I shrug trying to cover up the real reason
"Don't worry Leah, you'll play amazingly, you always do" Lia says patting my shoulder

We've arrived at Meadow Park and as I go to my cubby I feel my phone buzz, it's a message from
Alex

Alex 🫣
We've finally arrived! Maddie and I are so excited to see you play, from what I've seen I know you'll smash it 😏

From what you've seen? Have you been stalking me? 🤨

If watching a thirty minute compilation of you passing a ball about is stalking then yes, yes I have

God you're worse than me 😅

What do you mean by that Miss Williamson? Have you been stalking me?

Whaaaat noooo right as much as I would love to carry on this conversation, I need to get changed, I have a match to win and beautiful woman to impress

I hear yes her message before putting my phone away, all with a cheesy grin on my face
"What's for you all smiey for?" Viv asks sitting down next to me
"Nothing" I say in the most unconvincing voice, come on Leah.
"Yeah sure, but if you don't want to tell me I won't push, but I'm happy that you're all smiley again" she says patting my back
"Don't worry Viv you'll find out soon" I say laughing a little
We're out and warming up now and I look over to the subs bench to see Alex and Maddie already there, I don't wave but I smile at them because I don't  want the girls to find out just yet, Alex is doing a pretty good job of hiding herself she's wearing a flap cap with sunglasses, which might look a little weird considering it isn't sunny right now
It's time for the match to start and we all huddle
"Right we're playing a relatively good team at home, I want all of you to give it your all, I don't wanna see 100% I wanna see 110%, I believe that we can take home a comfortable win, let's go show them who we are, team on three, 1, 2, 3 team!" We all shout before spreading out to our positions

12th minute - Walti runs down the wing and plays a cross in Miedema gets her head to it but it veers away from the net

27th minute - Williamson plays an over head through ball to McCabe who gets onto it and smashes it into the back of the net! 1 - 0 arsenal

31st minute - free kick for arsenal just outside the penalty box, mead takes it hits the crossbar and West Ham clear it away

43rd minute - Arsenal have a corner and Catley manages to head it into the goal! 2 - 0 arsenal

Half time

It's now half time and Jonas is happy with how we are playing
We go into the second  half feeling confident

54th minute - chance for West Ham, they recover possession in arsenal half, Brynjarsdóttir passes it to Evan's who takes a shot from a long way out, Zinsberger just about gets a finger to it

62nd minute - Lisa Evan's is through on goal but Williamson slides in to deflect her shot

67th minute - Arsenal have a corner, McCabe takes it and pin points it to Williamson who headers it into the top right corner of the net! 3 - 0 Arsenal

I did it! I scored! As I headed it in I ran to the corner closest to the subs bench and made a heart with my hand, the girls on the subs bench might think it's for them but I can see that cheesy grin from a mile away, she knows it was for her

It's full time and all of us do a lap around the pitch applauding the fans, they were incredible today, once we had done a lap, I went and joined the rest of the girls

Alex's PoV:
It was full time and arsenal won convincingly, Leah got a goal and I know that heart was for me, to be honest I'm surprised non of the girls turned around and saw me, I was screaming so loud when Leah scored that Maddie started complaining that she had a busted ear drum
As the girls left for the tunnel a security guard came up to Maddie and I
"Alex and Maddie?" He asks
"Yep that's us" I reply before looking at Megan confused, she shrugs
"I've had instructions from Leah Williamson for you both to follow me down the tunnel" he says says gesturing for us to go with him
"Alright let's go" I say pulling Maddies arm as we walk with him

"There you are!" Leah says as she sees Maddie and I walk towards her
"Thank you" we say to the security guard before he walks away
"Hey you" I say as I pull her into a hug "great game and great goal" I say winking
"I hope you know that heart was for you" she says pulling away from me
"Oh for me, thank you Leah" Maddie says sarcastically as she goes over and gives Leah a hug
"Take it how you want" Leah says laughing before hugging Maddie back "come on the girls probably want to meet you, also they don't actually know that you're here so be prepared for them to freak out" she laughs as she opens the door for Maddie and I to walk in
As I walk in I can't help but look around, might sound weird but I mean it in more of an amazed way,  as crazy as it sounds I've never actually been to a football game before, the cubbys are cool, especially with each players shirt hung up and around it they all have their own unique decorations and additions to it
"OH MY GOD" I hear someone shout
"That's Beth" Leah whispers in my ear as she places her hands on my shoulders, goosebumps
Beth runs up to me and stands in front of me
"You must be Alex, for the sake of my reputation that my friends withhold of me I'm not going to freak out and I'm going to keep it strictly professional, but I must say I am a massive fan" she says before sticking her hand out for me to shake, jokes on her I'm also a hugger, I grab her hand and pull her in for a hug which takes her by surprise at first but then she hugs me back
"I'm more of a hugger" I whisper
Next to come up to me is a more shy girl, she slowly walks over to me giving me a small smile before introducing her self
"I'm Vivianne but you can call me Viv, unfortunately I'm this one's girlfriend" she says rolling her eyes and pointing towards Beth
"Shut up you love me really" Beth says lightly slapping Viv on the arm, I now also pull Viv into a hug which she happily reciprocates
From what I can tell, Viv and Beth are complete opposites. Beth is more outgoing and loud, she's not afraid to be too forward and outwardly voices her opinion whereas Viv is more calm and composed, she seems like the person who doesn't speak out too much and knows when to voice her opinions and when to simply keep them to herself in case of causing conflict
One by one all the girls introduce themselves to me, they also take quite a liking to Maddie, especially Katie, I know they'll get along, Leah tells me that Katie is the 'trouble maker' of the group and in school Maddie was quite the 'class clown' her self
"Are you ok?" Leah asks wrapping her arm around me
"I'm perfect" I smile at her placing my hand on top of hers as it rests on my shoulder
