Dear Diary,

To you I am probably just a non specific being writing on you empty yet worn pages. I would rather not be strangers with my own diary. So allow me to introduce myself, my name is Nadette. I am a thirteen year old girl who lives in Berlin, Germany. I have five people in my family. My mom, my dad, my little sister Ursel, and my older brother Bernardo. Mother has this obsession with bears, which is why all our names have something to do with them. My name means 'courage of a bear', Bernardo's means 'brave as a bear', and Ursel's means 'little she-bear.' We are clueless as to the reason behind the inclination, but we don't mind it, it keeps us connected in a way.  We try the embody our bear like qualities that our names give us.

Well, now you know about me and my family. Until next time.
