Hello people
This is my first time writing A/n first but there are some things that we need to know before reading this chapter
1. This isn't a real chapter, kind of like a flashback. We really need to know Yemisi's past, one she's been hiding for the past 11 chapters.
2. If you didn't know or can't remember
Yemisi's full name is Oluwayemisi Tricia Adekunle.
I hereby present Chapter 12: Flashback

Yemisi

I didn’t want to wakeup

I had prayed I would die in my sleep

“Yemisi” mum called from downstairs

She can’t know

NOT AT ALL!

“Coming!” I replied

I lazily prepared for school

Kayode wasn’t home, he was helping my uncle in the States

How was I going to do this?

"At least I have friends who’d stand by me" I thought

The school bell rang as I walked through its halls

I could hear people whispering as I walked past them

I was the center of attraction

I hurriedly moved to my class so I could meet Jessica, my best friend

“Hi Jess” I greeted when I saw her

She sighed and walked away
What was going on?

“Jess, what’s wrong” I asked tears forming in my eyes

“Look Tricia, I’m not sure we could be friends anymore” she said

“You have the wrong type of popularity. I don’t want that” she continued and then walked away

I thought she was my best friend

My eyes were full of tears as I tore away the BFF bracelet I wore and tossed it in the trash

Then I started sobbing

I cried all the way to class

When I entered, they were all watching and whispering

I moved to my seat and put my head on the desk

That was where I was till the end of the class

Till the end of every class until lunch

I didn’t want to risk myself being humiliated by going to the cafeteria

But I loved food like crazy and my stomach didn’t let me hear the end of it

I dragged myself to the cafeteria to get food and then leave

All was fine and noisy till I entered

Everyone fell silent and started whispering and pointing

Others who hadn’t witnessed yesterday were informed on the “happening thing”

Me

I ordered my meal and looked for a lonely table

I sat there and munched away my problems

“Tricia” his soft voice called
I looked up

It was him. My close friend and crush.

Throughout today, he’d been the only who’d spoken to me except Jess
