"IT'S BEENtwo months since Queen Sage became your wife, My Lord. Do you have any plans on introducing her to your brothers?" Thursday said.
Avenight glanced at him while comfortably sitting on the dining area. "My wife's still adjusting, the last time she met Sebastian was when she learned about my illness. I can't fucking imagine how messed up it would be if she'll meet the younger ones."
Thursday tilted his head. "Adjusting from what, My Lord? Lady Sage seems to fit in the palace perfectly. I can imagine her leading the whole clan beside you."
Avenight chuckled a bit before lowering the paper he's reading in order to see his right hand's face. "I can only imagine her slowly transforming the palace into Disney Land. She needs proper training from me before interacting with assholes in the clan."
"She'll survive--"
"Just wake her up for breakfast."
Bumusangot si Thursday nang putulin ng boss niya ang sasabihin niya. "Yes, My Lord."
Tahimik ang mga hakbang na lumabas siya sa kusina para dumiretsyo sa sala. He was about to take a step towards the staircase when Sage appeared on the top. Kagigising lang nito at halatang hinahanap ang asawa.
"Thursday! Where's my hubby?" nakangusong nitong tanong.
Napakamot sa batok ang lalaki. "Lord Avenight's been waiting for you at the dining area, My Lady."
"And where's my Peresiah?" she added.
"She took a day off because she needs to do something very important. Don't worry, Lord Avenight has no plan on leaving the palace today," maagap na sagot si Thursday.
"Okay! Tara na! Gutom na ako!" sagot ni Sage habang hinihimas pa ang tiyan.
Naunang maglakad ang babae kaya nanatili si Thursday na nakasunod sa likod nito habang tinatahak nila ang daan papunta sa kusina.
"Hubby!" Sage exclaimed out of happiness when she saw her husband.
Avenight immediately extended his arm to cage her wife's waist and gently placed her beside him. "Good morning, my wife."
"Good morning, hubby ko!"
Hindi maiwasan ni Thursday ang pag-angat ng mga sulok ng labi niya habang pinapanood ang dalawa. He almost forgot that these two used to hate each other to the point that they're bickering every morning.
But ever since their wedding, Avenight and Sage started showing affection towards each other. Their relationship became different and Thursday noticed that progress.
His Lord, who never smiled in front of everyone, can now comfortably smile and laugh when he's with Sage.
"Avenight, 'di ba sabi ko gusto ko pumunta sa Enchanted Kingdom? Last week mo pa sinabi sa akin na pupunta tayo pero hindi mo naman tinupad," nagtatampong saad ni Sage sa asawa.
"Hmm?" Avenight smirked playfully before kissing her left cheek. "I rented the whole place for tomorrow. I was about to surprise you but here you are spoiling yourself. Napakabugnutin mo talaga."
Her eyes widened in excitement. "Talaga?! Yey!"
Hinila pa siya papalapit ng asawa para higpitan ang yakap sa baywang niya at halikan siya sa pisngi. "What do you want to eat for breakfast? I haven't eaten yet so we can eat together."
Nilagay ni Sage ang hintuturo sa ibabang labi, napapaisip. "Gusto ko ng strawberry! Ay hindi! Gusto ko 'yung strawberry mismo na laging binibili ni daddy sa akin sa Spain!"
Kumunot ang noo ni Avenight sa pagtataka. "Why are you suddenly asking for a fruit? Baby, I'm asking for breakfast, a meal. You can eat that later."
"Eh gusto ko na nga kumain ng strawberry, eh," Sage said while pouting her lips.
Maingat na hinaplos ng asawa ang pisngi niya bago siya halikan sa noo. "Okay, I'll ask someone to buy that for you. It will take at least an hour since you specifically ask a freaking strawberry from your hometown."
"Yey!" Masayang hinalikan ni Sage ang pisngi ng asawa. "Thank you, hubby. You're the best! Ever!"
"Eat something first." Ginulo ni Avenight ang buhok niya bago humarap sa kanang kamay na kanina pa nakatayo sa gilid nila. "Thursday, hand me the meal you prepared earlier."
Mabilis namang sumunod ang lalaki at kinuha mula sa loob ng microwave ang plato na may lamang kanin at bacon. Pagkatapos ay maingat nitong nilapag ang plato sa harap ni Sage.
"Ah," Sage murmured before covering her nose in disgust. "Baho! Thursday, ayaw niyan, ang baho!"
"Your Highness?" Thursday asked in surprise. Inangat pa nito ang plato at inamoy 'yon. "My Lady, it doesn't smell awful."
"Hubby!" Hinarap ni Sage ang asawa at umano'y nagsumbong, nakatakip pa rin ang kamay sa ilong. "It's stinky, I swear! Ayoko niyan!"
Avenight took the plate from Thursday to smell the food, but he didn't smell anything as well. "Baby, it's fine."
"No!"
Patakbong lumapit si Sage sa sink ng kusina at 'saka sumuka roon. Mabilis namang tumayo si Avenight sa kinauupuan at dinaluhan siya para haplusin ang likod niya. Gusto niya pang sumuka pero puro tubig lang ang nilalabas ng bibig niya.
"I'll call a doctor, Lord Avenight," Thursday said before heading out.
"Hubby." Sage felt upset when she leaned on her husband's chest who immediately hugged her.
"What's happening to you, Sage?" nag-aalalang tanong ng lalaki. Maingat siya nitong hinarap at niyakap nang mahigpit habang hinahaplos ang likod niya.
"I don't know, I don't like the smell of that food. Gusto ko pa mag-vomit pero ayaw na ng mouth ko," nagrereklamo niyang daing.
"I'll have a doctor check on you, okay?" malambing na sabi ni Avenight. Maingat na nilapat ng lalaki ang mga labi sa noo ng asawa. "It's fine. You're not sick. Don't worry."
"Your Highness, I brought a doctor with me." Thursday appeared on the entrance with a female doctor beside him.
"Good morning, Lord Avenight and Queen Sage. I am Dra. Mikaela from Station 3. I heard about what happened," magalang nitong pakilala. "Your Highness, have you been vomiting for the last few days?"
Sage shook her head.
"Have you been craving for specific food these past few days?" dagdag na tanong pa ng doktora.
"Yes," Sage answered honestly.
"What are your questions for?" Avenight asked.
The female doctor smiled happily. "I'm asking to check the possible symptoms, Lord Avenight. I'll take a test on Queen Sage to get an accurate result since we can't depend on her answers."
He was confused even more. "What's this all about? Is my wife sick?"
"No, Lord Avenight, but Queen Sage might be pregnant."
Sage's face remained clueless after hearing what the doctor said, and when she turned to Thursday, his jaw almost dropped on the floor.
Avenight on the other hand couldn't process everything that fast. It feels like a bomb was dropped above his head that he couldn't think properly about what was happening. He's not fucking dumb not to remember what they shared during that night, because it was his purpose... to build a family with her.
