Wille mulls over what he is about to do. He knows it's the right thing so he gets out of bed. Puts on his suit and Jogs to the Reichstag Building. Inside there is an announcement being made by the speaker "The chair presents Chancellor Bernadotte". Wille begins "Mr. speaker, I am here today to announce my resignation from the post of Chancellor and as Chairman of the SPD. I understand this is a shocking revelation for a lot of you seeing as I have been Chancellor for 10 years. But I have I determined that Germany no longer needs me, and that it is better to die a hero then live a villain". Wille pauses then continues "I will remain a member of the Bundestag and will run for reelection. I think however the time is right to pass on what I have learned to the next generation, that is why I am endorsing Walter Albert to be the next Chancellor of Germany. I did not lie when I said, I wouldn't go anywhere until the War had ended. I however didn't promise any longer than that". Another pause and then he continues "If you need me, I will be here. Long Live the Federal Republic! For Freedom!"

Suddenly a SPD delegate begins singing and soon the Rest of the Bundestag joins in:

"Should old acquaintance be forgot,
and never brought to mind?
Should old acquaintance be forgot,
and auld lang syne?

For auld lang syne, my dear,
for auld lang syne,
we'll take a cup of kindness yet,
for auld lang syne.

And surely you'll buy your pint cup!
and surely I'll buy mine!
And we'll take a cup o' kindness yet,
for auld lang syne."

August got an alert on his phone "Shocking! Chancellor Bernadotte announces Resignation" and more articles began to pour in about Wille's resignation. He was shocked, but considering Wille never wanted the job, this was the perfect time to discard of it. It was the end of an era. It came time for the farewell ceremony, where Wille would get one final honors from the Bundeswehr.

General Mann was to wish his boss of 10 years farewell in the traditional manner. The army lit torches. And played three songs of the outgoing Chancellor's choosing. The songs were Kungssången, 99 Luft Balloons, and Hail to the Chief. "Action!" he said and they saluted and began to play:

"Einigkeit und Recht und Freiheit
Für das deutsche Vaterland!
Danach lasst uns alle streben
Brüderlich mit Herz und Hand!
Einigkeit und Recht und Freiheit
Sind des Glückes Unterpfand –
𝄆 Blüh' im Glanze dieses Glückes,
Blühe, deutsches Vaterland 𝄇"

General Mann notices the chancellor holding back tears as he hears the anthem, which has played for him for 3817 days or 10 years, 5 months, 14 days. The new Chancellor is elected and it is done. Little does Wille know that in a few years he will be called into the role of chancellor a second time.
