Part  3

But Angela didn't take a drink, she stood up calmly, picked up the glass and threw the liquor on Al's shirt.

Taking the scarf from around her throat, Angie started screaming. He could see that her neck was red and then she grabbed at her throat, pretending to be panting for breath.

Dotty stood and knocked over another kitchen chair just as calmly and before he could even react she yelled: "Stop it Al, you're killing her!"

Then everybody's yelling. Al was speechless. Almost - because by then the cops were in the kitchen and he was trying to explain what happened but he wasn't all that sure what was going on, himself.

"He tried to kill me," Angie said. "Just because I told my sister about us."

"She's crazy," Al yelled back.  "I didn't hurt nobody. Tell 'em, Dotty."

Dot didn't say anything but she was glaring now, too.

The cops weren't buying his story. Cuffing him, one of them said: "Come on, Buddy, we'll get it sorted down at the station."

Dotty asked the cop: "They won't let him come back here, will they?"

"If you press charges lady, not for a while."

"We'll both press charges, officer," Angie called out as the screen door slammed behind them.

(To be continued).
