If you were a theist and most of your social life was around religious activities (Church, or things related), it must be hard to try to get new social circles. Thanks to the internet, you can socialize through it with a lot of people. There's even an app created by one of my friends, that it's an atheist social network. It's called "The Atheist App" if you want to download it. It's a bit like Facebook.
If you prefer a face-to-face, you can always try to have a club at your school, or check on internet if there's any atheist gatherings in your area. Even though, isn't something that I suggest that much. Mostly if you live in a country that's very religious (Saudi Arabia, India, etc.)
Maybe you can talk with the pastor of the Church you used to go. Talk to him how you would like to have a Q&A at the Church. It really depends how open minded he is to answer yes or no. But, you could also ask friends to do that.
You obviously don't necessarily need to be open about it. Some people just keep it private, and aren't open about their atheism. Same way some theists are with their religion.
