This edit was inspired by The Weeknd old Albums! I've been a fan of his since 2014, when my cousin first showed me his song. I still vividly remember sitting on the couch, it was late at night and I was in Belgium visiting family.

I heard the song... and I thought wow... and that night, I stayed up listening to all the available music I could. Growing up wasn't the kindest time for me, and listening to his music was my escape from the reality. When is pop in my earphones, I was lost to the trance of the music. All the pain was gone. My worries were no where to be found. That temporary moment of pure bliss was all I needed. His songs are known to be... out there, however it wasn't the lyrics that drawn me, but his voice and overall aesthetic. His voice held so much emotion, and as I couldn't voice my pain, listening to his music was my fantasy; my sweet escape.

My Instagram (if you followed since 2019) has mixtures of his music and aesthetics. My personal second account where I had only a small group of friends was filled with funny memes and Weeknd posts (and some silly edits I did where I'd photoshop myself with him as a joke. One of my favourite one was the premier with Bella Hadid, I wish I still had access to my old account but I lost everything and that beautiful picture hahah).

I haven't stopped listening to his music, although as I grew up, I moved away from the mentality that people need to know which "fan base" I am in. This edit is something younger me would of been thrilled about! It's an edit to showcase my growth from that young teenage me, to the me I am today.
