Chapter 10..
“So are you coming over tonight?” Charlie asked down the phone
“I can’t, I have so much homework to do. My Jack ass of a History teacher piled a shit load of homework on us that’s due in on Monday” I said smiling down the phone
“Well, Maybe I should be having words with this jack ass of a history teacher.”
“Maybe you should.” I said laughing into the phone
“Come over, pleaseeee!” Charlie whined
“Charlie, you’ll see me tomorrow anyway, for you brothers wedding.”
“I can’t wait that long! I want you with me now,”
“And what would we do if I did come round?” I said seductively into the phone.
“Holly! That’s gross! He’s my best friend!” my brother said from the kitchen table, and I could hear Charlie laughing from down the phone and I laughed also
“Sorry Austin” I said blushing
“So are you coming over?” Charlie asked
“Fine! But I need to do my homework!” I said
“I will make sure you do you homework” He said and I could tell he was smiling. I said good bye and hung up the phone.
“Holly? Sweetheart!” My dad said coming into the lounge with a big white envelope in his hand
“Yeah?” I said
“This is for you,” My dad said smiling handing me the brown envelope. The logo in the top right corner was Juilliards logo, I smiled and took a deep breath and turned the envelope in my hands and started to open it.
Dear Ms Raine,
On behalf of Juilliard we are writing to inform you that you have been accepted into the arts programme at Juilliard in September. Find enclosed in the envelope all the information you will need about starting the program in the fall.
I screamed. “I got it!” I shouted holding my hands up in the air smiling, my dad and brother smiled and each pulled me into a hug.
“Come on, lets go out and celebrate” My father said
“Actually dad, I have a date,” Austin said
“Yeah, me too daddy,” I said wrapping my arms around him and kissing him on the cheek.
“My children are growing up so quick” He said
“I’m staying at Charlie’s tonight and tomorrow daddy,” I said
“Yeah, and I might get lucky on my date tonight,” Austin said
“Make sure you use protection.” My dad said pointing to us both
“Dad!” I said blushing while Austin laughed
“What?” My dad said shrugging and looking innocent
“God. Your so embarssing!” I said heading out of the kitchen and up to my room to get my things together. I could hear my dads laughter from downstairs.
“Daddy! I’m leaving!” I shouted as I headed towards the front door, grabbing my car keys
“Okay sweetheart. Stay safe!” He shouted and I rolled my eyes
“Bye dad!” I said again and headed out of the door and towards my car.
I knocked on Charlie’s apartment door and he answered a couple of minutes later wearing black jeans and a white wife beater with a red and black checkered shirt.
“Hey,” He said smiling
“Hey, what cha doing?” I asked
“I was just cooking my amazing girlfriend dinner,”
“You mean you ordered take out?”
“No!” He said quickly and I raised an eyebrow “Okay! Fine! Yes. I ordered chinese food,” He said and I laughed and kissed him gently on the lips.
“Are you going to let me in or not?” I asked when I realized I was still stood out in the hallway.
“No. You have to stand there all night.” I glared and stormed passed him, and put my duffle bag on the floor next to my shoes and headed into his lounge.
“Guess what?” I said as I sat down on his couch and lay across it.
“What?” Charlie asked as he lifted me up and sat me in his lap,
“I got a letter from Juilliard. I got in!” I said excitedly
“You did? That’s great!” He said and hugged me tightly and kissed me on the lips. He lay me back on the sofa and lay on top of me, and began kissing down my neck,
“Shouldn’t we eat the food, before it gets cold,”
“No. We need to celebrate you getting into Juilliard,” Charlie said and I smiled
“Hm. I like the sound of that,” I said as I pulled his head down and kissed him
We lay in Charlie’s bed, my head resting on his bare chest.
“Are you sure you want me to come to your brother’s wedding? Won’t your parents be pissed that your dating your pupil?” I asked
“We can just say your in college, You look old enough”
“Okay,” I said
“So how olds your brother?” I asked
“He’s 22”
“That’s cool.”
“yeah, he’s alright.”
“Have you ever been close to getting married?” I asked looking up at him
“Um. I think we should go to sleep” Said Charlie turning around causing my head to fall him.
“What? Why didn’t you answer my question?!” I demanded sitting up
“Just leave it Holly.”
“No!”
“Why?!”
“Just shut up and go to sleep! Charlie snapped. I got up off the bed grabbing my clothes on the way and headed to the bathroom, and slammed the door shut. When I’d dressed I stormed back into the room and saw Charlie asleep.
“Ass whole!” I said and rolled him off the bed. He hit the ground with a thud and then he groaned.
“What the hell Holly?!” He said getting off the floor, I grabbed the quilt off the bed and dragged it out of his room and towards the lounge. I got on there pulled the quilt around me and drifted off into a dreamless sleep.
