One thing you can think about is wether or not your theriotype is domesticated or wild. Now if you something like a beta fish you most likely domesticated because they are often kept as pets. There is also animals like hyenas or manned wolves, if you have a theriotype like these your more likely to be wild.
Now how about the in between? Such as parrots or cats. For animals like these you will have to do research on your behaviors. If you tend to act more 'rude' and skittish around people and you happen to be a cat therian, there's a chance your wild. No if your more docile and social you might be a domestic cat.
