Land of Shadow. Ghostly tales and places of the southwest

Prologue

While many of the ghostly legends and places you will read about among these pages will be familiar to you and can be found sprinkled across the internet and among countless websites, I HAVE made an attempt to select some of the lesser known ones for your enjoyment.

Having grown up in the southwest I feel uniquely qualified and honoured to write about an area with such a rich heritage and in writing about it have been allowed to tap into some of the cherished memories stemming from my childhood.

As a side note I would like to take a moment to thank our ancestors who, through their rich and detailed oral traditions, have managed to keep these stories alive across the ages. Without them, we would never have known.

So dear reader. Let's settle in you and I, turn the lights down low and walk together through the land of shadows.
