I was turning 39 today.

Miranda was coming to the Ranch to celebrate.

She told me she had the best Birthday present for me.

I told Miranda the best Birthday present from her would be the news that she's pregnant.

She had told me to shut up.

I knew Miranda was joking around.

It was by the tone of voice she used.

A bunch of our fellow Country Music singers were here.

Isaiah was screaming in Carrie's arms.

"Miranda, can you try to calm him?"

"Me?"

"He always goes calm when you have him."

"Maybe because he's scared of me."

"He's not scared of you."

Miranda sighed.

"Please. He hasn't slept in 14 hours. Neither have I."

She smiled.

"Well, you can go take a nap in our guest room."

Miranda took Isaiah from Carrie.

"And I will put him to sleep."

"If he gets too heavy, just give him to Mike."

"Okay."

"Thank you."

"Of course."

"This is a really big ask."

"I love babies. It's not a problem."

"Just not her own!" I commented.

She looked back at me.

"The guest room is the fourth door on the left."

"Thanks again."

"Not a problem."

She walked away.

Miranda was rocking Isaiah in her arms.

"I guess practice makes perfect, huh?"

He was staring up at her.

"I'm gonna have a crier and a screamer like you one day."

Isaiah continued staring up at Miranda.

"I hope I'm as good a Mom as your Mama is."

He giggled at her.

I walked up behind Miranda.

I placed my hands on her shoulders.

"You will be an excellent mother."

"How do you know?"

"Because you have too big of a heart not to be an excellent mother."

I kissed the side of Miranda's head.

"Even though you like to hide it most of the time." I whispered in her ear.

Miranda grinned.

"I hope you're right." She told me.

"I am."

Isaiah was sound asleep in Miranda's arms.

She turned to face me.

"If you wanna live in Los Angeles and do The Voice, I support that decision. It's an incredible opportunity."

"Uh-huh."
