Chapter 11

I had no idea he felt sorry for me

But he never said that he forgave me either, and I don't blame him if he never forgives me

I'll never blame him for any decisions he makes

Even if it means kicking me out of his life

I guess the saying is correct: "if you love someone, let them go"

On my own free will, I decide to go back to school the next day

I'm in the creepeteria with a drink, minding my own business

I glance around the room and I see a few others at tables, including the ghouls and Clawd

Soon I see someone else walk in

My eyes widen

Spelldon

He looks around before his eyes meet mine, and they widen

His mouth parts slightly

He clenches his fists

He looks like he doesn't know what to do

I glance at the ghouls and they're also looking at Spelldon

He looks at them

Then back at me

As if he's choosing between the light side and dark side

Good vs evil

Heaven or hell

If he chooses heaven, they'll continue to make my (and probably his) life hell

If he chooses hell, I'll take him to heaven

"Spelldon! Sit with us!" Draculaura calls

"Yeah! We'll make sure you have good friends," Clawdeen says, emphasising 'good' as she looks at me

Rude-

Admittedly, they are nice ghouls. And he deserves people who are nice to him

He looks at them, then me, waiting for me to interject

The rest of the ghouls look at me also

I sigh and wave my hand dismissively

"He can go where his heart desires, as long as he's happy and safe," I say with a soft smile

He smiles back

"Oh come on, you don't actually care about him, do you?" Cleo asks before rolling her eyes

I sigh and stand up

I put my hands on the table

"As a matter of fact, I do,"

All eyes are on me now, including Draculaura and Spelldon

I turn to him

"I heard what you said in the library yesterday, and I'm grateful for that. And you don't have to apologise for anything darlin," I say

His cheeks go red and he scratches the back of his neck in embarrassment

I smile at him before turning to the ghouls

"Spelldon is the only monster who has shown me kindness since that incident. Yes I hid it from him but I never lied to him either, and it's his decision on whether he forgives me or not," I say while gesturing to him

"That doesn't excuse-"

"I know that doesn't excuse the fact that I hid it, darlin. And I take responsibility," I say
