Everyone tells me you are
now free, and how you found
peace, and how you no
longer have to hurt anymore...and I don't share that belief.
And I can't go and tell anyone
this because they will want me
to explain and elaborate why I
don't believe the same way.
I don't have the fancy words
and wisdom, so I sound like my
own belief has no grounding,
which then signals to them
that my belief is not good enough,
and is unfounded in good principle
or morals or whatever.
I do not cry for the "freeness" of
your soul, but I grieve the fact
that it should have never gotten
here in the first place.

CLOUDS FOR MY EYES
PoetryThis prose-poetry chapbook explores themes of clouded judgments, devotion and deconstruction, and cotton fields where a belief in purpose and a belief in freedom no longer align. New poems released every Thursday at 9PM MST/11PM EST.
