Forgiveness

Who is the one
With unfathomable imagination
Who is the one
With impossible amounts of creation

Who makes a game
Out of everything they see
And who makes a party
Of a seashell by the sea?

It's the one who accidentally
Broke great grandmother's China plate
It's the one who not so innocently
Smacks glass with a repurposed skate

They don't know what's better
There is no good or evil in their minds
there is only that selfish mission
Of finding the pleasures of life

So when little fingers make a mess due to idle curiosity
And high laughter rings out
Over the shattered remains of the past
Remember nothing is permanent
Children aren't innocent
But you were like that, once
And someone gave you the chance to learn as well
