⸺ ⧗ ⸺

Being the daughter of the black widow, it was very natural that you fell into fighting sports. After all, you spent your entire early childhood watching her train and fight, hours and hours of keeping your mama company when she was in the training room, always pushing herself further and what a little girl doesn't want to become like her badass mother.

Natasha was a bit reluctant to let you try martial arts at first, she didn't want you to get hurt badly, but also she didn't want that for you. When she thinks of her upbringing, of the way she was taught... No, she wanted something fun for you. However, you were a bit of a daredevil child, and you were getting restless and martial arts seemed like the perfect solution.

That's how you started judo at the age of five.

Natasha still remembers your first day vividly. You were so excited, jumping and bouncing off the walls, watching the clock hands tick hoping to make time move faster. She managed to get you to settle down for one picture though. You stood at the bottom of the stairs in your white kimono and white belt. You had the biggest smile on your face, a couple of teeth missing, and somehow the hair that she had braided was already a mess.

You immediately loved it. And so, you never stopped. You trained for hours and hours, perfecting each and every move you were taught. Then, you learnt new ones and cool new judo techniques that kept you motivated to continue the sport and practised some more. Like mother like daughter.

You climbed up the ranks until reaching your brown belt.

Your mama showed up to every competition and was so incredibly proud of you whether you won or lost. The rest of your family was of course also very proud, and while they couldn't show up at every single events, they did their best to attend as many as possible.

You did get your fair share of injuries. Obviously, that's part of the sport, but it didn't mean your mom was thrilled. Bruises of courses, but also injuries like one broken clavicle when you were 9. You were annoyed, especially since you couldn't train for a few months after that, but your mama reminded you that if you were going to continue, you were gonna have to be patient because that wasn't going to be the last time you were going to get hurt. And like always she was right, because barely 3 years later, you went home with a dislocated elbow...

Natasha didn't like that you were getting injured every so often, but she knew she couldn't talk you out of judo. You just loved it so much and honestly, who was she to talk when she sometimes comes home from mission with a bullet still nested in her thigh...

Your injuries never discouraged you. Quite the opposite actually! Every time you fell, you got back up, stronger than ever. And now here you are, a few years later and all grown up, taking part in the final of one of the most important tournaments of the season.

You could see your whole family in the bleachers, cheering you on from the distance. It was hard to miss them, these idiots attracted attention wherever they went.
