me and my best friend Jada decided to spend my 21st birthday out here , but when I got off the plane she stopped answering her phone , basically leaving me stranded .
I decided I was gon see my mom since I haven't seen her since the last time I been out here which was during covid .
i decided to just go somewhere and get something to eat after i left my moms house since i had bought a rental car .
" what do i want to eat " i said to myself as i got in the car
i had just got out of a toxic relationship during Covid and i haven't opened up to anyone else since i didn't wanna keep feeling stupid and looking stupid
" ouuu i want some canes " i said to myself
i powered on the ac and decided to go in and eat because i looked cute when i got in the building i seen it was a group of people and they were all sitting down in one corner of the restaurant i noticed the boy with them who was tall and darkskin was looking at me but i decided not to engage
i ordered my food and she gave me a ticket seeing that my number was 6 i walked over to a table going on my phone when someone approached me
" wassup lil mama " he said
i looked up seeing it was the man who was staring at me when i walked in
" heyy " i said with a smile
" you mind if i catch that seat " he said pointing at the empty chair across from me
" go ahead " i told him laughing
" so you just by yourself? you live out here ?" he asked me licking his lips
" no , my friend and i were supposed to be spending my birthday out here but once i got here she stopped answering " i told him
" awel shit , well me and my friends out here for a week , if you wanna hang with us " he said looking at his hands
" yeah i'd like that , but would your friends be okay with that " i said looking over at them
once i looked over i seen a table full of smiles which made me and him both laugh
" yeah they coo wit it " he said turning back to me
" alright " i said sighing
" whole time what's yo name " he said looking at me
" i'm maya " i said with a smile
" what's your name ?" i asked him
" i'm kai " he said leaning back
i started smiling and he smiled back at me
" all them damn wires in yo mouth " he said laughing at me talking about my braces
" see not to much on me " i said laughing
he was actually really cool and he was already making me laugh
" you look nice wit em tho " he said to me
" number six , order number six " i heard as the man called for my order
i looked at my ticket and seen it was mine
" thanks " i said about to get up
" hold on lemme get it for you " kai said getting up to get my food
" you didn't have too " i said as he came back to my table with my food
" mancht mane it's no problem " he said sitting back down
" you gon sit with me " i asked him smiling again
" shit you want me too " he asked me
" sure " i said to him
" issa bet then " he said
we talked some more and i swear he was the funniest nigga on earth , i hadn't stopped smiling since he came and sat down with me
he looked over at the table where his friends sat and that's when he turned back to me and asked me ..
" aye can i get yo line , i wanna really kick it with you some time "
" yeahh " i said grabbing his unlocked phone
i put my number in and i got up to throw my food away seeing he already stood up
" imma call you right now " he said
as soon as he said that i heard my phone ringing on the table , i grabbed it and declined the call saving his number
he hugged me and i swear i felt like i NEEDED that hug
" you wanna walk me to my car " i asked him grabbing my purse
" shit we gone " he said as we walked out the door
