Chapter 14 - The Reason (part 3)

= JADE'S POV =
Nandito kami sa ospital. 2 weeks ng nandito sa ospital si Raven.
Sabi ng doctor he's in a stable condition. Medyo malalim daw yung pagkabaon ng kutsilyo sa likod ni Raven, buti nalang daw walang organ na nadali. Pero ang sabi ng doctor, he's in the state of coma.
Nandito lang ako sa kwarto niya na at naka-upo sa upuan na katabi ng kama niya.
Ang hirap pala ng ganito. Makikita mo ang isa sa mga importanteng tao sa buhay mo na nakahiga sa isang kama na walang kalaban-laban at hindi pa nagigising. Makikita mo lang sya na may benda sa ulo at walang kulay ang mga labi at pisngi.
"Raven, gumising ka na. Nandito kami oh, hinihintay kang gumising. Miss na miss ka na namin, Raven. Pumayag daw sila mommy nun na sumama kayo. Pupunta pa tayo dun sa America. Dun daw tayo mag-aaral. Kaya please, gumising ka na." sabi ko habang may tumulong luha galing sa mata ko.
Nag-antay pa ako ng onti, tinitignan ko kung gigising siya, pero habang nag-aantay ako, tinabunan ako ng antok. Bago ko ipikit yung mata ko, hinawakan ko ng maigi yung kamay niya habang nakaunan yung ulo ko sa braso ko na nakapatong sa kama. Pagkatapos nun, unti-unting pumikit ang mata ko.

"Mom, totoo ba yun?" tanong ko kay mommy habang nandito kami dito sa kwarto ni Raven.
"Alin dun?" tanong niya pabalik habang hinahaplos iya yung buhok ko. Naka-unan kasi ako sa lap ni mommy.
"Yung sinabi po ng bad guys na gangsters kayo? And ano po yung sinasabi niya na may agency daw po tayo?"
"Yes, sweetie. Me, your dad, your tito and tita are gangsters. Me and your dad are the kings and queens of the gangster world. Your grandfather and grandmother are the empress and emperor of the gangster world, mafia world and the largest agency of the whole world.
Yung agency na sinasabi nila ay pagmamay-ari ng lolo mo. Yung agency na yun ay para sa gangsters, mafias, and agents. Ginawa niya iyon para mapanatiling maganda ang takbo ng gangster world and other things. He trains the best students that he has and those students train lower ranked students. It's like a chain. He and your grandmother trains us, we train the top 20 gangsters, mafias, and agents. We teach them how to fight, how to move faster, how to think of strategies and other things, and we train them to be stronger.
Most of their reason to join our agency is to protect themselves and their loved ones. But they can't avoid death threats or fights. It's the consequence to be like us. They challenge us to take our place, for revenge or other reasons. Our reason to be like this is to protect the family. Especially to protect you.
You're the only girl who was born a Grande. All of the girls in the family are only the wives of your uncles and me. You don't have a female cousin. Well, except for Jane. But, she's adopted. Kahit adopted sya, tanggap natin siya. Parehas lang ang turing sa inyong dalawa ng clan natin. Well, ung lolo mo lang talaga ang may favoritism... Mahal niya tayong lahat kaso nga lang mas mahal niya kayong dalawa ni Troy. Kayo daw ung favorite niya, parang ganun... Tapos---" pinutol ko na ung susunod na sasabihin ni mommy.
