Melissa tossed the knife into the river. She sighed as she bent down to wash her hands. This wouldn't have happened if the man had took her where she wanted to go.

"Does the man have family?"a male voice said in a panic.

"Nay, my love."she said in a bored tone.

"Perhaps it is time you left here for good. I can get us safe passage to-"

Melissa rolled her eyes.

"Just stick to the plan Stefan. Don't steer from it at all."Melissa interjected as she wiped her hands clean. She had no intentions to leave. She wasn't finished here. She had been close or close enough to getting what she wanted.

Melissa wiped her hands dry on her clothing as she stood up. She turned around to face Stefan. He wasn't a man, barely over the age of eighteen, but he was useful. Easy for her to manipulate and do her bidding. Lately his whining and undying love for her was getting in the way.

"I'm not so sure about this Melissa."

"All will be well if you stick to the plan."Melissa said as she glared up at him. He was not going to mess this up for her. And if he did she would end him.

"As you wish Melissa,"Stefan said as he picked up the driver of her carriage. He pulled the lifeless body to the pre-dug grave.

Melissa sighed as she examined her hands. Hands that were now free of blood.

"Make haste. We still have work to do."Melissa said sternly.

"Melissa I wish you would just come away with me. Tonight. We can go where ever you want. Start a new life."

"I didn't put in all the long hours, and days at Rosehaven to be defeated. You know what I am here for. I am not leaving until I get what I want."

"Why does it have to be that way? Do you really need to be married to the man,"

Stefan said as he dropped the body into the grave.

"Stefan it must be so. And you know why."

"I'd hoped you would see past your vengeance,"Stefan said as he shoved dirt angrily into the grave. He didn't want to see the woman he loved married to that man. No man. No one but him. He loved her so much and wanted to be done with this. So she could finally be his. It was high time she gave it up.

"That day will never come,"Melissa said as she examined her fingernails."When Rosehaven is mine then I will I be all yours."

"It wasn't you who had been wronged. Forget Rosehaven."

"Stefan. My dear sweat Stefan. It was me who was wronged. Did you forget already what I told you? I mean that little to you. I thought you loved me."

"I do. I just wish we could be together already. You waste time here. With something that isn't your burden to bear."

Melissa grind-ed her teeth together. Stefan was really starting to be a thorn stuck in her thumb. An annoying little thorn. One that needed to be picked quickly. Melissa sighed as she walked over to him. Hands on her hips with a smile spread across her lips. She had one last task she needed of him. He'd done enough. He did prove useful but now he was getting in the way.

"Stefan, I have one last thing I need you to do for me. Do this and we shall be together sooner then you think."

"I will not shed any blood Melissa."Stefan said as he turned around to glare at her. It was bad enough he was burying someone she'd killed. A man that wouldn't be returning to his family if he had any.
