—chapter fourteen | Flesh and Stone

— ALFAVA METRAXIS • CRASHED SHIP —

—EVE WAS SHOCKED TO FIND HERSELF ON THE OPPOSITE SIDE OF THE ROOM. On the ship. That was above them, well, was above them. Now, they stood on it. She looked around as she stood up slowly with the Doctor's help. She looked around before helping Amy. "Look up! Well... down but up." Eve told them. "You all right?" She asked Amy.

"What happened?" Amy asked as she held her head.

"We jumped." River told her.

"Jumped where?" Amy looked confused as Eve continued to look up.

"Up, up, look up!" The Doctor commanded making Amy look up.

"Where are we?" She asked.

"Exactly where we were." River told her when the Doctor came up to her.

"Move your feet." Amy did just that making the Doctor sonic a round piece of metal that was attached to the ship. Eve stared up at the place they stood before, watching for angels. She slowly walked towards River.

"Doctor, what am I looking at, explain." Amy asked once again making the Doctor stand up.

"Oh, come on, Amy, think! The shop crashed with the power still on, yeah? So what else is still on?" The Doctor asked as Amy began to realise they weren't on the ground anymore, they were on the ship. "The artificial gravity. One good jump, and up we fell." The Doctor jumped once with a smile. "Shot out the grav-globe to give us an updraft, and here we are!"

Eve's eye looked at all the angels, who actually looked like angels. They were reaching for them but they couldn't actually reach them. "Doctor. The statues, they look more like Angels now." Octavian told him.

"They're feeding on the radiation from the wreckage, draining all the power from the ship, restoring themselves. Within an hour, they'll be an army!" The metal door finally opened, revealing a hallway. "They're taking out the lights. Look at them, look at the angels." He pointed at them with his screwdriver causing Amy to look up. "Into the ship, now, quickly all of you!"

"But how?" Amy asked before she saw the Doctor go through the door. "Doctor!" Eve and her looked in to see the doctor standing.. the right way up. Well, sort of.

"It's just a corridor, the gravity orientates to the floor. Now, in here, all of you, don't take your eyes off the Angels, move, move, move!" Eve was the first to jump in and land next to the Doctor as he soniced a panel attached to the wall.

"Okay, men, go, go, go!" All of Octavians cleric went running passed the two. "The Angels, presumably they can jump up too?" The door closed.

"They're here, now. In the dark, we're finished." The Doctor looked at the closing door behind them. "Run!" He didn't make it in time to stop it.

"This whole place is a death trap!" Octavian cried.

"No, it's a time bomb. Well, it's a death trap and a time bomb. And now it's a dead end. Nobody panic." He turned to face everyone as banging echoed from the other side of the door. "Oh, just me then. What's through there?" The Doctor pointed behind him with his sonic.
