Enid's POV

"Where's Wednesday?"I asked looking at Ajax

"Enid..."Ajax spoke softly putting his hand on my back in a comforting way

"Where is Wednesday?!"I demanded and shrugged his arm off

"We haven't seen her"Xavier said looking down at the ground

"No..."I said softly and I felt tears swell up but then I saw a small figure in the distance walking towards us, there were 2 more people. Eugene and Bianca. I still couldn't see the middle person until she came out of the fog and it was Wednesday. I ran towards her throwing my arms around her neck and pulled her into a tight hug. I held on to her like she was going to leave. I felt her pull away and she looked at me with her usual glare but once she saw my face and that my tears were coming out like a waterfall. Wednesday's eyes widened and she brought me back into the hug. She held me so tightly and put her face in my shoulder"I thought I had lost you"I croaked out, my voice was weak

"Nothing can kill me"Wednesday spoke softly and I pulled her even closer holding onto her like it was our last days on earth

I awoke in my bed, my eyes glued to the ceiling. It had been almost a week since my hug with Wednesday and she's been avoiding me. Avoiding me more than she usually does. Oh god did that hug make her feel uncomfortable"Uuugh"I yelled in frustration

"Keep that noise down"Wednesday spoke with her cold voice

I sat up in my bed, crossing my legs and putting my hands together fidgeting with my fingers"Hey Wednesday?"

She sighed"What Enid?"

"Um..."I paused, I was unsure on how to approach the conversation"Uh, when we had the hug. It meant something to you right?"

Wednesday sighed again and shifted her position on her bed slightly, as if she was nervous to tell me the answer"I gotta go Enid. Xavier asked me to have painting lessons with him"She spoke and got up walking out of the room really quickly. She didn't even bring her painting set with her. I was confused. Was she not wanting to tell me because she's dating Xavier? If she was dating Xavier, why wouldn't she tell me? I wasn't going to shame her for it. I would be ecstatic for her but the fact she didn't tell me, makes me question our friendship. I had to ask someone. I grabbed my phone and texted Ajax

Enid:
Ajax! I need
your help. Meet
me in the court yard.

Platonic soulmate:
Okay Enid.

I stood up from my bed grabbing my pink hoodie and threw it on me. I made my way out of the room and walked down the long hall. I made my way down the stairs when my phone buzzed

Platonic soulmate:
Sorry Enid! Something
came up and I have to
go deal with that.

I frowned reading the message from Ajax. I really needed to talk with someone about how Wednesday was acting

Enid:
Ajax please?
I really need to
talk to someone.

Platonic soulmate:
Principal weems is
in her office. You can
talk to her.

But I didn't want to talk to our principal about how Wednesday was acting. Ugh!

Enid:
Yoko? Can we
talk, I need someone.

Yoko🕶️:
I'm a little busy
at the moment Enid.

Enid:

now you. Ugh.
