Grace | The Prince

After celebrating the good news with my parents, I literally ran upstairs to talk to my boyfriend, Oliver Woods. Once I removed my socks and threw my bag on the table, I immediately took my phone in my pocket and dialed him. I let out a deep breath, knowing he would be so happy about my surprise,

"Hello?"

I smiled, "Hey, Oliver."

"What's up babycakes?"

Oh yeah, he has a thing about cakes. His family's business is a cake shop, where they bake the best and most delicious cakes here in Santa Barbara. Our parents have been friends since we were born that the reason why almost all the cake that has been prepared on my birthdays are from their shop. It is still very clear on my young mind how I get excited every time we go to their shop, not because of the cake, but because young Oliver Woods is there to give me a smile. His blue eyes, brunette hair and skin as white as milk always made my cheek turn red as a tomato. We became childhood friends until our connections bloomed.

I rolled my eyes and giggled, "Silly. You really won't stop with that 'babycakes' nickname,"

I heard him chuckle, "Make me, Ms. Collins."

I sighed in defeat, "You're a monster."

"You know you love monsters." he insisted.

That is true. I love monsters. When we were kids back then, Oliver and I watched monster movies every weekend. Pretty much made our bond stronger as we were both nerds turned humans.

A thin line of convex crept unto my lips, "Anyways, I want you to know that I've been chosen to play the piano on our school's year end piano recital!"

He quickly answered, "Really? Wow! That's so cool!"

I smiled as I hear his cheerful tone, "Yeah. Hope you're gonna be there."

"I'm sure about that, baby. I'm a proud boyfriend! I'll be there."

I grinned, slowly falling on my bed, arms above my head. His words always affect me in a strange kind of way. His deep, mysterious voice never fails to make my heart pump like it's gonna pop out of my chest.

I immediately realized he's still on the line, I quickly took my phone nearer to my ear,

"Pssst..Miss Collins?"

"Yeah what, Mister Woods."

"I love you." he whispered as I bit my lower lip.

"I love you more." I rolled my eyes as we continue getting so cliché.

"Cliché much?" he joked, seeming like he's reading my mind.

I laughed, "I learned from the best."

"Okay, okay. I know you have so many homework to do so, I'll bid goodbye for now."

"Right. Goodnight!"

"Goodnight, babycakes. Love you so much."

I smiled, "I love y-" I'm about to give my response to his sweet goodbye when he turned down his phone. Silly Oliver. Always in a hurry. Maybe he also have lots of things on his plate such as unfinished schoolwork.

Wait, when did he start doing schoolwork?
