(chapter xv - it's not a date, for the record)

SELENE LOCK WAS excited to leave Camp Half-Blood. It took practically a week to convince Chiron to go hang out with Percy. She had to go to multiple sparring lessons with the Ares kids, multiple readings with the Athena kids, multiple target practices with the Apollo kids...

Yeah, you get her point? It was fucking annoying. Chiron finally agreed to let her go once he watched her disarm Clarisse La Rue. It was funny, because, Selene thought it was practically impossible to defeat Clarisse, but it was actually quite easy. The daughter of Ares was practically staring into space half of the match.

And when she was finally deemed good enough to leave...

Chiron left her on her own to convince Argus to drive her.

And she still has to talk to the hundred-eyed man, and she was not looking forward to it.

Why is she going through all this bullshit, you ask? Why is she doing all of this just to leave camp for a couple of hours? Well...

That reason was Percy Jackson. Her and Percy were scheduled to meet up after the orientation Percy was going to. They were going to a movie, and Selene would be lying if she said she hadn't been thinking about it for the past month.

Selene and Percy had been keeping in touch — in fact, they practically Iris-Messaged each other every day, so she didn't understand why she was so nervous.

"Ugh," Selene groaned — leaning on Thema. "This is the worst! I still have to convince Argus to drive me over to Percy's school, I still have to finish my make-up, I still have to —"

"That's what happens when you decide to wait until the day of," Thema singsonged — brushing off Selene's rant and holding up an outfit. "This one would totally look hot on you, Selene. You should try it on."

"Were you even listening to anything I said?"

"Huh? Oh, no. After all, this is the seventh time you've been complaining this morning. I mean, not that I'm counting. Girl, you should've really planned this out earlier."

Selene rolled her eyes. She met Thema back in spring, after the quest to save her mom. Thema was a daughter of Apollo, so they were practically....

Bow buddies. (Ew, she's never saying that again.)

But it was true. The two definitely bonded over the spring. Thema was the only thing keeping Selene from not going insane.

Thema giggled. "Anyway, try this on, because bitch I am no child of Aphrodite but let me tell you —"

"Alright alright," She interrupted, laughing. She took the outfit from Thema's hands and went to go get changed. When she was done, Thema gasped.

When she was done, Thema gasped
