Nick Jr.: THE MUSICAL!!

Hey! We're In A MUSICAL!

"And...cue opening music!" Dylan said as Olly pressed a button backstage. The lights dimmed down, extravagant Broadway-style music played, and Dylan rushed out on stage. "Hello, everyone! And welcome to the opening night of...Nick Jr.: THE MUSICAL!!!" The audience cheered in excitement as he continued. "Now, before all our favorite Nick Jr. friends come out to play on this very stage, there are a few things you should know." The audience started to murmur a little til one audience member said "YEAH! THE SAFETY RULES! WE GET IT, YA IDIOT!"

"Anyway," Dylan continued, pretending he didn't hear that just then, "No food or drinking is allowed in this theatre, so if you have ANYTHING you need to finish eating, FINISH IT NOW!" Oswald finished up his cheesy crackers, Wubbzy chugged on grapity-grape juice, Widget quickly chomped up some leftover Doodleberry pie, and even Rubble and Everest made haste of their pup treats as quick as their stomachs could chew them. "Good. It may or may not disturb the actors in our cast if I hear any SMACKING during the show."

"Next rule: no talking." "Does this mean that—" A random theatre patron began to say before getting kicked out. "Sorry, force of habit." Dylan aplogized, "And lastly, if you do want to take pictures or videos during the show, it is highly encouraged! Just no flash vids or photography, though. I've heard all those genies, monsters, puppies, villains, and even mermaids you'll see in this musical are very sensitive to bright lights from phones." Everyone chuckled at that as they all patiently waited for the show to officially begin.

"So, with all of that out of the way, WHO'S READY FOR NICK JR.: THE MUSICAL?!" Dylan shouted. Everyone was ready, that's who! The audience cheered wildly as Dylan finally gave the signal for everyone to come out: a thumbs up. But no one came. Then all of a sudden, the theatre went dark and a spotlight shone. Dylan was surprised. Were they really gonna start the show without him? The spotlight made its way over to a backstage set beside the main stage, where everyone was finally ready! Dylan went over there as a jazzy instrumental started up, and everyone started to sing:

Brobee: 🎶 Get into costume, try to relax! 🎶 And Deema, can you please stop acting like a kitty cat?
Deeema: Sorry!
Shimmer: 🎶 Only one minute left til it's time to start our show! 🎶
Plex: Is everyone ready to go?
Dylan: NO!

Tiny Chef: 🎶 Cue up the music and strike up the band! 🎶
Dylan: Can anyone tell me where I'm meant to stand?
Dora: 🎶 We've been practicing hard, but amigos, it's finally time! 🎶

All: 🎶 We're leaving JrVille, and being whisked away,
To a place where we can sing and play!
Where the spotlights are lit,
And the actors are all in their prime! 🎶

Molly: 🎶 We'll give it all that we got! We can get very far! 🎶
Dylan: Yes, but why would you choose ME to be your guest star?
Shine and Gil: No time for that now.
All: 🎶 Let's get onto the stage, and just SHINE! 🎶
Dylan: Guys, wait for me!

All: 🎶 Hey! Come and play!
We're in a MUSICAL!
Step onto that stage!
We're in a MUSICAL! 🎶

Deema: 🎶 When the sun begins to soar, 🎶
Brobee: 🎶 Open the doors, go straight to your seat, 🎶
Both: 🎶 And hear the crowd roar!
Join the applause! 🎶
Come on, Dyl!

But Dylan felt like he couldn't do it. As he tried to make his way to the main stage, his fears of singing and dancing up in front of a live audience overtook him. He stayed still at the backstage set, frightened by the audience currently cheering his friends on. That is, until Chase came by, ever so reluctant to take Dylan's place as stage manager at a time like this.

Chase: 🎶 When you're feeling down,
And there's no one around,
Take a deep breath and think... 🎶
All (as Dylan slowly makes his way on stage again): 🎶 Of our wonderful town! 🎶
Dylan: Okay, here I go.
🎶 Hey! Today's the day.
We're all in a musical! 🎶

Chase: 🎶 Step...onto that... 🎶 stage...this is your FINAL CALL! Abby, get out there!
Abby: Oh, right! Sorry! Pardon me! Make way, important cast member coming through!

Marshall: 🎶 When the sun begins to soar, 🎶
All (with Abby joining in): 🎶 Open the doors, go straight to your seat,
And hear the crowd roar!
Join the applause! 🎶

Dylan: A 1, 2, 3, 4!
All: 🎶 Hey! Come and play!
We're in a MUSICAL!
Step onto that stage!

YEAH!

Everyone cheered as their show was about to finally start. "Alright, everyone! Let's dive right in and get this musical started with a visit to the underwater town of Bubbletucky." Dylan said as he closed the curtain and started up the overhead screen, which showed the cold open to the first segment of the show: Bubble Guppies!
