Our heroes are back in Viridian City, where Y/N hopes to win an Earth badge. If he does, it will be his eighth and he'll finally be able to compete in the Pokemon League.
Y/N: I can't believe it's been a whole year since we were here!
Soon, our heroes arrive at the gym.
Brock: Look! The Viridian gym! And inside there is an Earth badge with your name on it!
Our heroes approach the threshold of the gym.
Y/N: I already have seven badges, I just need one more to get in the Pokemon League! I've gotta win it here!
Pikachu: Pika! (Oh yeah!)
Eevee: Vee! (Oh yeah!)
Y/N: I know we can do it. I'm on a hot streak!
Y/N said with a burning fire of passion in his eyes.
Brock: Wow. He is all fired up.
Misty: Yeah.
Then a car rolls up with a familiar laugh being heard from it.
Gary: Don't get your hopes up yet, Y/N. Unlike me, you might loose this gym battle.
Gary's cheerleaders start cheering for him.
Y/N: Gary?
Gary: I thought that you finally gave up catching and training Pokemon. I figured you went back to Pallet. But, no. Here you are, still at it.
Y/N: *smirk* Why would I give up when I only have one more badge to win?
Gary: Really now? *gets out his badge case* You have some catching up to do.
Our heroes look and see that Gary has ten badges instead of the usual eight.
Gary: As you can see, I already have ten badges. *closes his badge case* Still think you have what it takes to become Pokemon masters?
Y/N: Of course! Now, what are you doing here?
Gary: I just stopped by on my way back to Pallet to see if the leader of this gym wants to battle a real Pokemon trainer.
He gets out of his car.
Y/N: Well get in line, because I too want to battle the gym leader.
They walk towards the door where two guards are guarding the door.
Gary: I'm Gary Oak from Pallet, and I hereby request a battle with the leader of this gym!
Y/N: As do I! I am Y/N from Pallet Town, and I seek to battle for an Earth badge!
Both guards stamp their axes on the ground and the door opens.
Cheerleader #1: Let's go!
Cheerleader #2: This'll be cool!
Cheerleader #3: Gary will win again, like he always does.
Y/N: Come on, guys. We're going in, too.
However, the guards block our heroes way.
Guard 1: Only one trainer allowed in the gym at a time, kid.
Y/N: What?! But I want to see Gary battle!
Guards: That's the rule.
The doors then close.
Y/N: Well I guess we have to wait here then.
Misty: Or we could go eat something.
Brock: Now that you mentioned it, I am getting really hungry.
Y/N: Okay. Let's go eat then!
