Chapter Five

I looked up at the large gates of Konoha, a strong feeling of nostalgia washing over me. Instantly, I felt a sense of panic.
What if nobody remem-... No.
I shook my head.

I don't care.
Feelings like that just get in the way. Besides, I have a goal now. And if I ever want to achieve it, I can't let anything get in my way.
And so, without a second thought, I walked through the gates and into the busy village.
Nothing had changed... It was still full of children running and playing, adults rushing around, children with shiny leaf headbands...

Something I never got to enjoy.

I was weak.
But that's over now. I am no longer the useless little girl I was back then. Now I can take care of myself.

My pale hand reached up to brush the scar over my lips.

Now, my life has a purpose.
