24. "papa?"

I am in my office staring at nothing just like what I was doing all week

I miss my daughter

Even tough she doesn't show it or doesn't like to acknowledge it

She likes it here, and we lover them here

This week has been hell, no one in this house is the same

Especially Angelo, the once lively kid, was quiet, very quiet, he only comes out of his room once a day to eat and never speak to anyone

He misses her more than anyone

"BERRY CALLED! SHE WILL BE HOME TONIGHT" I hear Angelo shout loudly

"WHAT?" everyone in the house shout at once from every different place including the maids and cook in our house

That is how much she has been affecting our life

We all rush to the living room to see Angelo standing there with a smile on his face

"she called, she said she is on her way home, she said she will come home, papa, she is coming back to us' he said throwing himself at me as soon as I was in the living room

"really?" Isabella asked nearly in tears

"yes mama, she said it herself" he said hugging her soon it turned out to be a group hug

Just then we heard the door open, we all look at each other and rush to the door

As soon as we get there we stop in our tracks at the sight in front of us

Alex was carrying a sleeping, thin, abused Evangeline

My heart broke at the sight if her malnourished self

"she was tired, she fell asleep in the car, let her sleep, talk in the morning, I will take my leave, Marie and Eva are waiting for me" he said passing her to me

I forgot to mention that he adopted Eva and they moved out as Marie is 2 months pregnant now and likes to live alone

"ok, you can come with your family for lunch tomorrow, I am sure your wife will be happy seeing angel" Isabella said as he agreed and took his leave

"she doesn't look the same at all" Alexzander murmured from beside me

"don't worry, we are here for her, to get her back" Austin said

"Angelo, will you sleep with her tonight?" I ask and see him frozen looking at her

"No" he murmurs backing away, "she, it can't, no" he says before running away and locking himself in his room

"you take care of her, I will see him" Xander says and runs after Angelo

I gently take her to the guest room and put her on the bed as she and Angelo share the room and he locked it

"sleep well, welcome back dear" I say and kiss her forehead as all her brothers did the same and we walk out

As we were in the living room we see Angelo crying with Xander on the sofa

"I was so scared, the last time I saw her like this was in one of my

nightmares and I... I couldn't see" he shuttered

"don't worry, that brat is strong, she will get well soon" Xander says comforting him I go there and hug them both

I know you are scared, honestly so are we but I know she will get well soon, now let's sleep, let's talk in the morning" I say and he nods as we all go to our rooms

"we finally have her home" Isabella says as we sit on our bed

"yes, lets sleep" I say pecking her lips as we lay down closing our eyes

I wake up in the middle of the night feeling uneasy

I think some water might help, I think as I go out to get water

As I was about to reach stairs I see the guest room

Maybe I can check on her

As I open the door I see the most heart-breaking thing any father could see

Angel was sitting in the middle of the bed hugging her knees whispering something I can't make out

I immediately go to her and hug her

"its ok dear, you are safe, its just a nightmare" I soothe her rubbing her back

"no" she whispers and starts shaking

"it's ok, I am right here, your dad is right here dear" I say hugging her tight holding back my tears

The sight of my strong daughter shaking with fear is something no father would think off

"it's ok, I am here, I won't leave you, you are safe" I say hugging her close

I don't know if I was comforting her or myself

All I know is I never will let my daughter go through something like this again

"Its safe, you are home" I say

Then she jolts awake with a gasp

She looks at me with those beautiful eyes of hers filled with tears but not letting them out

"its ok, you are safe, you are home," I say hugging her back again

"papa?" she whispered and I froze

How long I was waiting for her to call me papa again

"yes, your papa is here, you won't leave here again" I say as tears made their way out of my eyes

I slowly feel her hug back lightly before her body goes limp I look down to see her

I slowly put her back on the bed and was about to leave when she caught my arm tightly

"don't leave me alone papa" she said in a whisper in her sleep holding me tightly

"I would not dare to" I say and getting I n the bed with her cuddling her to my chest

I sigh

I want her to call me papa, she called me so

But...

It was in a sleepy state, she wont even remember it in the morning

But no matter what I will hold on to this precious moment
