theodore laurence made a vow to himself. he was going to stop falling for women he was friends with. he had misinterpreted his friendship with jo march for something more. and he never wanted to be hurt that way again.
but vows were a difficult thing. especially when they were made from emotions.
and no one knows vows like the twins of hastings. the vow they made out of spite as their father took their last breath was the thing that bound them to be so close. not the blood or the fact that they lived in their mother's womb together for nine months.
the now-duke and lady of hastings were known to be a cold and collective duo; always keeping to themselves and not interacting with others.
but when theodore laurence meets a strange woman in the garden of one of the houses of the many balls he has attended, he wonders if his vow was worth anything.
