Close your Eyes.

It was another day in the lab,the smell of sulfur hung in the air as constant beeping could be heard,

The doctors and researchers roam the halls,making it seem that the building that held so many unwilling test subjects seem much more lively than what was actually occurring here.

I had just got done with a test,the researcher having shoved me back into my shared cell before going to the medical wing,as i had lashed out at him after he put his hands on me,

Moving to one corner in my cell,I sat against it and rested my arms in my lap,watching some other doctors walk around the halls.

I had looked back to the door when it had opened,a doctor shoving my cellmate Cross into the cell with me,the smaller crying as the action was performed;

I got up and hurried over to the younger one once the door was closed and picked up the smaller one from the floor.

I made sure Cross was doing okay before walking him back to the wall I was originally sat against,allowing the younger to rest himself against me.

A little bit later a couple of doctors had opened our cell and had dragged us both back out to another test room,making sure to separate us as they did so we would cause any trouble in the test room;they said,after I had asked as to why they had separated us.

I went with the doctor that had taken me from my cell,walking with them into the decontamination hall before the test room,then moving to get to the other door in there to head up to the viewing platform,

As i watched them i thought about the plan i was now ready to pull off.

Once I was allowed entry into the chamber I awaited my commands,absentmindedly delving into my thoughts,almost missing the speaker come on and say something along the lines of 'Blu,are you ready to begin?',

Once I registered what was said I let myself nod,settling my nerves and getting on with the test.

I was escorted back to my room after the test and 'dinner time',being roughly shoved back into my cell to see my small cellmate sitting against one of the beds awaiting my arrival;

I walked over and sat with him,giving him a small smile and gently petting his head.

Cross had hugged onto me after i sat down,moving to hide his face in my side and fall asleep shortly after,i presume the crying and test he had done earlier exhausted him,

I wrapped my arms around him as i got up from the spot and laid him down on the bed we were sitting against and allowed him to rest himself there.

Shortly after sitting down with my friend,the building went into sleep mode,effectively making it so that my plan started,

As I double checked that no one was still in the hall;i got up and headed over to my locked cell door,placing my hand against it and settling my breath,de-materializing the lock and letting the door creak open,

Oncei made sure that part was done I walked over to the bed and woke up my small friend,taking his hand and leading him outside of the cell and heading down it to the left.

We made our way to one of the rooms nearby,opening the door and hurrying in to grab a set of keys i had previously hid under the trash bin,

I walked back over to cross and picked him up,fashioning him to my side with the blanket I took from our cell.

Once i made sure my boy was safely against my side i hurried off to the first set of doors i needed to open,fully knowing that once i open this door an alarm would sound and i would need to get to the exit as quickly as possible and run for safety.

As I unlocked the door,I took a deep breath and readied myself,making a run for it as soon as the alarm system started blaring.

It didn't take long for me to get to the other door and unlock it;running for my life as soon as the moonlight was in my eyes,full of knowing that if I didn't get far away enough they would most certainly find us,

I ran until i couldn't anymore,slipping past a corner and slumping against a large trash bin,my eyes darting around to make sure i was completely safe before i started catching my breath,

Only relaxing once i heard a small whimper exit my companion,i reached over and rubbed crosses head,effectively calming him down.

I watched him doze off before i rested against the bin,my eyes growing heavier and heavier as long as i didnt doze off myself,before i nodded off i had noticed a figures silhouette blocking the moon before they called for someone 'mother',i think it was before i let my eyes close,

Before I completely nod off,I heard some light steps and felt something warm wrap around me.

I was warm,and felt safe as I nodded off.
