It's the next morning and they're all hoping Meredith will wake up by the end of the day, there's no medical explanation why she's not awake yet, but her vitals are always stable and no other sign of brain injury or anything that matters.

"Deluca,have you slept yet?" Tom asked checking Meredith's vitals and her pupils.

"Uh I slept for like an hour" Andrew answered "Mfraid something might happen" he mumbled

"Nothing will happen, all we have to do is wait for her to wake up, let her rest" Tom said before walking out of the room.
Just as when Amelia walk in with 2 cups of coffee in her hand, handling it to Andrew.

"Thanks" Andrew smiled taking the coffee from her hand.

"How's she?" Amelia asked standing across Andrew.

"Her vitals looks great overnight" Andrew said sipping his coffee, putting it on the table and taking Meredith's hand into his

"That's great" Amelia breath out.

Andrew held Meredith's hand and put it on his face caressing it, missing her touch, her voice, ger smile he haven't seen since before the surgery, her emerald green eyes he haven't seen since before the surgery. He continue to caress her hand until he stood up in shock making Amelia look at him confused.

"What?" Amelia asked

"Sh-she she squeezed my hand, she squeezed my hand" Andrew rambled exited.

"Mer, ca-can you hear me?" Amelia asked softly.

She's still on vent so she can't talk. Meredith slowly opened her eyes tiredly, adjust to the lights. She look around her confused at first.

"Hi, you're awake!" Andrew smiled, his eyes welling up with tears.

"I'll page Tom and Maggie" Amelia said walking out of the room.

"Hi, welcome back my love" Andrew smiled, leaning down pressing a kiss on Meredith's forehead, as she held his cheeks wiping off his tears, shaking her head 'no' telling him to stop crying.

"I'm sorry" Andrew chuckled wiping off his tears "I'm just happy you're finally awake" he repeated, as he observe her, wanting to burn that image in his head forever.

"Ohkay, Grey welcome back!" Tom exclaimed walking inside the room along with Meredith's sister's.

He intubated Meredith.

"So, as you already know you have to do chemo and radiation for the next few months"Tom said.
as Meredith nodded, she still can't speak her throat still hurts from the that was in her throat the past few days. "Okay then excuse me" Tom smiled as Meredith nodded tiredly.

"Thank you" Andrew smiled.

"Do you want wate?" Andrew asked, as Meredith nodded.

"You know Ellis missed you so much" Amelia smiled caressing her sisters hand as Meredith smiled back tiredly, while Andrew was getting the water helping Meredith to drink.

"Does she have to do the early ambulation?" Maggie asked.

"What's that?" Andrew asked

"Uh it's what I do with my patients when they had surgery like this, and yes in this case Meredith will have to" Amelia sigh.

"How's that work?" Andrew asked putting the glass back on the table, sitting on the edge of the bed.

"Basically you lift her up and guide her walk towards that chair" Amelia said pointing to chair near Andrew.

"Ou, shouldn't be that hard right?" Andrew asked nervously looking at the chair, back to Amelia...

"Ou, it was horrible when I did it, I could barely stand" Amelia chuckled, making Meredith smile "And it depends on the patient's condition of course"
