"Rajkumar," Nakul looked at his wife, by name. By heart, she was someone else's. "Is it alright for me to meet him?"
"U-uh, of course. No need to ask me."
"I just wanted to make sure you weren't uncomfortable with it."
"That's nice of you, but I have no problem. But who is he?"
"A-Angraj Karn."
He nodded as she left. His heart ached as if a dumbbell was thrown on to it. He sighed, lowering his head as he stared at his reflection in the mirror. "Why? Why didn't you tell me before I ruined your life?"

-----------------

There was a frosty chill in the air. The trees with vines surrounded the forest and hid the sky. And in the middle was a pond, near which sat Angraj.
"Karn?" She whispered as she walked to him.  "Why? You could've told him, he wouldn't force you into marriage."
"I-I know, but I promised Govind that I shall not go against the words of my father." He sighed. "When?"
"A few days before Drau's swayamvar."
He nodded, standing up and wrapping her in a warm hug. "Does he know?"
"Yeah, he does."
A small smile appeared on his face as he broke the hug. "I missed you, a lot, my lavender."  Agni whispered as her cupped his face with her hand. "I did too,  Agni."  Her heart seemed to be melting and his heartbeat seemed to be increasing every moment. Just because of each other. The fire to his heart was here and the part of her soul was here. He leaned in, touching his forehead with hers as both of them closed their eyes.
"Wow! I never knew anything about this!" Indu chuckled as she walked in. "Before you ask, I was here since you came Agni."
"Gosh, Indu, I hate you! You have absolutely no right to spy on me like this!" She chukled, scolding her in English while Karn silently watched, trying not to laugh.

----------------------

"No, I'm the only child so far." Satyadev said. [KEEP IN MIND UTTAR AND UTTARA AREN'T BORN YET]
"Oh, I have 5 brothers."
"Heard all about them. They're glorious." She slightly leaned and kept her head on her shoulder. Her eyes noted the movement of the sun as it set down. The sky was completely orange and the sun, for the first time, actually seemed like a huge ball of fire [which it is].
As weeks had passed, Satyadev and Indu had grown closer. First, they dropped the honorifics and referred to each other by their names and now she called him 'Satya' and he called her 'Lekha'.
"Lekha," She glanced at him, her head still on his shoulder. "What do you think of me?"
"Hmm, you seem smart to me, you're fit, strong, kind, considerate, handsome and the most important of all, you love animals. Overall, you're perfect."
"And, would you like to marry this perfect guy?" She jerked up from his shoulder. All of this seemed unreal, too fast. Was this her dream proposal? In the sunset, together without anyone else, on the top of the palace in the balcony of her chambers. While the sun silently left her gaze, while the chatter of the city had quitened down, while the  winds swayed the curtains of the balcony? Was it finally time for her to get a significant other? Who she would love more than herself?

"YES!"
