I sat there waiting on Alexandra to begin talking this is after she'd taken her time in clearing the bottles and wine glasses.

It seemed she was nervous and didn't know how to begin but nerves should be the least of her worries right now she has a lot of explaining to do this situation didn't even begin to top the list

"Are we going to stay here all day or are you going to start talking"I tell her startling her out of her thoughts but I felt no remorse

"Urm....I I'm sorry for what you witnessed today I...

"I've told you this before Alexandra don't say something unless you actually mean it"I tell her

"But I do Hugh...I didn't want you to find out like this....I was actually going to tell you" she says

"Hmmm...oh really" I said in disbelief

"Yes Hugh I was....w

"When the time was right" I finished for her softly

"Eh yes"

"When was the right time to tell me Alexandra because from the way this conversation is going it appears this has been going on for a long time so forgive me if I don't believe a word you say"I tell her

"I.....

She left that statement hanging like she didn't know what to say or she did but she didn't see the point of saying anything thing.

And that left me angry

No let's rephrase that it made me very furious

Not because I was angry that she cheated on me because I technically did the same to her only that I found out about hers first

Actually angry because it seems she's given up like she doesn't have any resolve left like she isn't ready or willing to fight or defend herself like she planned this for a while and envisaged on how everything would play out and she actually planned her response.

It was like she'd given up

This is why I was angry

Because although I'd found out about them I was expecting some sort of reaction from her but all I got was resignation like she didn't care anymore

"Don't you have anything else to confess to me"

I stood watching her every expression I watched the way she clenched and unclenched her hands how she flexed her toes looking up to stare at me. Then she said the next thing that surprised the hell out of me

"I don't know do I..."

And just like that she got up and shrugged her expression completely vague

"I need to take a bath Hugh....maybe then we can continue this conversation with you giving me the list of sins you want me to confess to" using my own words against me with that she untied her robe letting it drop to a pool behind her

I averted my eyes not before catching a glimpse of her naked behind  which used to do things to me before now I wonder what changed

My subconscious mocked me

"And Hugh....

"Huh... I responded slightly dazed as she turned to me not caring about her nudity I guess she didn't have too I mean we were married

"Do order something to eat I'm starving"

And with that she disappeared behind closed doors I assumed to be the bathroom

A good three minutes later I find myself actually doing what she asked or is it ordered as I spoke to the receptionist who said a few unrecognizable sputterings before saying our order would be with us shortly.

I ended that call with two things in mind

One the receptionist didn't know how to respond as she was in an awkward situation I had just found out my wife was cheating on me she knew that I knew that but what she didn't understand was how we could be ordering for food in this situation

I mean I certainly can't understand also

The second thing was something I actually understood Alexandra was stalling

And she knew that I knew

And if she did know then I don't know

Goodness Hugh really you're not making any sense

Don't blame me

I mean I just found out my wife's cheating on me and she doesn't seem remorseful or bothered by the fact that I found out instead she seems resigned like she's been waiting.

And then it clicked

Just as a knock sounded

"Hugh is that our order" Alexandra said as she came out

That was fast

I thought to myself referring to both situations

I opened the door just as a guy came in with a tray
He placed the tray on the freshly cleared table as he picked up the empty wine bottles and placed a fresh opened one in the tray.

He muttered something along the lines of

"Have a good evening" before excusing himself

"Do we talk now or do you want to eat"I asked

"Eat first I'm starving..." she replied

"You mentioned that earlier"I said disbelieving

"Because it's true" she said condescendingly

My only reply was a nod

Thinking about what I had just come to realize
