I can't believe I was agreeing to this now I understood why those people said love could make you do anything.
We were in the back seat of my Mercedes as my driver drove us to the surrogacy agency
"Thank you for agreeing to this sweetheart...I promise it will be worth it" Alexandra says
"I hope so" I say thinking back to yesterday when I agreed
**Flashback**
We were out for dinner talking about our day when I brought up the conversation
"So about this surrogacy thing...I've given it some thought and I think it won't be sure a bad idea"
"Really!!"she exclaimed
"Yeah....but there has to be some ground rules..."
"Yes of course...rules let's hear it"
"But first I had a discussion with mom and she had somethings to say about the matter"I tell her watching her every reaction to the news
"Oh...that's okay what did she say though did she agree" she asked with an unreadable look on her face
"Yeah she did...which brings us to the rules
Firstly I think it would be best if we ran a background check on whoever it is that's going to carry the baby, secondly a medical checkup must be done and lastly I'd like to do a personal interview with the chosen candidate"
"Yeah I agree with you on the background check up thingy and the medical examination but I'll have you know the agency runs this interviews personally and I do not think they'll be on board with the idea of you doing it yourself" she replied
"I'm afraid these are my rules well not just mine though mom is on board with it too"I tell her
"Alright then Is that all of your rules"
"Yeah do you agree to it"
"Of course...seeing as you and your mom have already made up your mind and I don't have a choice in the matter...I'll have to agree"she says sulking

Soon we were parked in front of the agency as my driver got down to open the door for Alex and we made our way inside my eyes kept roaming the place analyzing and evaluating.
The place seemed okay with the interior and nurses I've seen it was like a clinic "Quit staring"Alex spoke
As she walked us both to the front where a young woman in her mid thirties sat I'm guessing she was the receptionist "hello good morning I'm Jada Twinkles welcome to Ginny and Claire fertility clinic"she speaks with a cheerful smile on her face
"How may we be of service" I didn't miss the way her eyes lingered on me her eyes glittering in awe

I think to myself as Alex gave me a small squeeze
"Hello...good morning please we've got an appointment with Doctor Claire Mills"Alex speaks on our behalf as the receptionist tore her gaze away from my face to look at Alex
"Alright...then give me a sec" the receptionist says as she dials a number on her landline "hello there's an appointment for mrs Mills.........Alright thanks"
"Okay....mrs Mills will see you now" she speaks immediately after she'd ended the call
"Take the elevator up to the second floor and then the first door on your right" she directs
"Thank you Jada"Alex says to the smiling receptionist as I reply her with a nod as we make our way to the elevator "she called this place a fertility Clinic....Alex"
"Hmm....hmm" was her response I was about to reply when the elevator tinged open and we entered into the doctors office not before knocking though
"Good morning...I'm guessing you must be Mr Hugh the one whom Alex has been gushing about" she says after hugging Alex and giving her hand for a shake
"Hmm.....Good things I hope"I joked as she chuckled
"Yes...of course only the best,take a seat please"
"Thank you"
"So....let's get down to business...based on what we discussed Alex...I've got some good news"
"Okay...tell me"
"Well we've got a couple of candidates set for interviews and based on Hugh's preferences...sorry may I call you Hugh?
"Yeah sure"
"Okay... we narrowed it down to seventeen candidates and here are their files for your inspections... but I'll have you know we do not reveal the names of our clients to the candidates until one on one meeting"
"Alex says you are scared of attachments between the surrogate and your child is that so"
"Umm...not scared just cautious" I reply
"Alright....we advise that the surrogate spends time with the child's family six months into the pregnancy that way the child gets used to the parents voice before it is born...would you be okay with that"
"You mean...she would live with him?Alex asked
"No...she meant the both of us...Alexandra"
"Would you be okay with that Hugh"Claire asked
"Anything for the baby..." I replied she seemed satisfied with my reply as she rewarded me with a smile "Alright then...here are the files of the handpicked candidates"she says as she hands me three folders green blue and red
The first file belonged to a girl named Stella age thirty she had enormous boobs and blond hair
"Nope...too old" I say as I turn the folder
The second one belonged to a girl named Ella she was nineteen years old and I believed her too young so I didn't bother to check her face just returned it
I was really getting tired of scanning through candidates once I got to the fifth one I was about giving up. As I open the sixth one I prayed to the heavens for patience I mean was this what she'd handpicked herself, I thought with a sigh
Opening the seventh file there weren't any picture just a name heading 'Normani Janine' it read
Age: Twenty three
Born 15 October
Studied Early childhood
This was the one at last I hadn't realized I was smiling till I handed the file over
"I see you've made your choice and you're satisfied"
"This will do" I replied nonchalantly
