There is a curious darkness
In the geometry of Heaven,
A passing of stone and fire
In an empty silence that
Breaks both mind and faith.
Yet these grey clouds bring
Such all-consuming apathy
That barely even sparrows
Notice the morning dusk.
And as the majesty of such
Mighty celestial drama
Passes over unregarded,
Bears and dragons hide,
Demons are constrained,
And the Moon leaves his
Quarrelsome sister behind,
Challenging the flowers that
Bloomed in their reunion
To blaze a little brighter.
