Tauriel couldn't sleep that night.
The thoughts of Legolas and Elithina kept circling around in her mind.
The moonlight shone through her small window and onto the floor.
It acted as a night light.
She spent hours thinking, when she felt tired and drifted to sleep.
She woke up to the birds chirping outside her window.
The moon was gone.
It was bright and early in the morning.
Tauriel sat on her bed and rubbed her eyes.
She got up a few moments later to wash up and get changed because she was on morning patrol with Legolas.
Legolas. She felt so different about him. Was she against him?
She made her way down when she saw the ballroom being decorated with those same magical lamps that she and Legolas saw when they were young, in Tauriel's first feast of starlight.
Servants and guards were everywhere, arranging things, putting stuff from one place to another, some were even planning something with King Thranduil.
There was no sign of Legolas or Elithina.
She didn't bother to ask what was going on.
She went out the already opened gate then headed out.
She climbed up she and Legolas' tree to look out for any danger.
Mirkwood was utterly beautiful in it's morning glory.
It was so majestic.
She stood there for a while, then she closed her eyes, letting the soft breeze of the wind ease her out through all her heavy-minded problems.
She opened her eyes a few minutes later then she started climbing down the tree.
She approached the gate then went inside.
The ballroom was half-decorated, with all those lanterns and a few extra lights.
It looked amazing, but Tauriel knew that this couldn't be for her.
King Thranduil was gone, only servants and guards all around the place.
Still, no Legolas or Elithina.
She sighed loneliness and started climbing the staircase back to her room when she bumped into Aranya half way up.
She wasn't your regular Aranya.
The sadness in her eyes was visible, she had the same feelings as Tauriel.
"What are they doing?" Tauriel asked.
Aranya swallowed, "Preparing for Legolas' and Elithina's marriage. Making plans and such for the next two days." Her voice had pity.
Tauriel nodded, and ascended the steps as Aranya went down.
She ran quickly to her room and locked the door when she was inside.
She went to her open window, and rested her face in her hands on the window sill.
She cried for a long time.
She stared out, into nothing.
She sat on her bed, then soon felt the sleep get the best of her.
She lay there for a while then shut her teary eyes.
Then sooner or later, she slept.
