Chapter 8: Sonic & XLR8's history/past

[Somewhere, outside on top of the balcony section of the motel stood Rainbow Dash, leaning against the balcony and staring up into the night sky in deep thought. She couldn't get a wink of sleep due to many thoughts plaguing her mind: The mysterious blue and neon blue wave, some crazy doctor and an alien velociraptor who nearly killed them, being all over the news, and her sister meeting a talking blue hedgehog and a talking blue-and-black velociraptor, both have super speed. She helped the two creatures escape the doctor and an alien velociraptor who looked just like the blue-and-black velociraptor, even though she didn't trust them at first. She was still gung ho to find anything suspicious of them, but now, after seeing and learning some things about them at the bar and at the motel they are in, she wasn't sure what to think anymore. Despite that, they weren't dangerous or bad as she thought them, but there was still something about them that she didn't understand, nor what their true motivation was. She was thinking about something like: Where did Sonic and XLR8 come from? How come Sonic is a hedgehog? How come XLR8 is a velociraptor? Why do they act like children? But the one thing that was the weirdest and freaky thing to Rainbow was that "they" actually sounded and both acted like...]

Sonic (Off-screen): Rainbow Dash?

[Rainbow jolted up in fright at a sudden sound of a voice behind her and quickly spun around. But it was just Sonic, who had a look of confusion and curiosity. She turned her head away from him.]

Rainbow Dash: Oh...It's just you. [Cleared her throat] What are you doing here?

Sonic: Uh, I was feeling a bit thirsty, so I decided to go out to get myself a drink, and then I saw you. What are you doing out here?

[Rainbow paused for a minute.]

Rainbow Dash: It's nothing, Okay! I-I-I... I just want to be alone.

Sonic: [Sigh] Alright, I get it... you just want some privacy. I was just curious. But, if you don't want to talk about it, then I understand.

[As Sonic slowly turned and headed back to his room, Rainbow watched on. She then remembered what she learned about him and XLR8 at the bar earlier which leads her to a curious question: What is it with them being so sad? She decided to have a chat with Sonic.]

Rainbow Dash: Wait!

[This caused Sonic to stop in his place and slowly turn towards her with a confused expression. Rainbow inwardly sighed as she faced towards the balcony again while tapping a free space beside her, gesturing to him to come closer. Taking this as some kind of a sign of an olive branch, Sonic slowly made his way over and stood right next to her. Neither of them spoke for a while as they silently looked up towards the stars in the night sky. For a long moment of silence Rainbow began to speak.]

Rainbow Dash: I... came out here to think...

Sonic: About what?

Rainbow Dash: About... everything that led to... this. You were right about what you said earlier. It's all my fault that you lost your rings. And I blew that chance for you and your friend. I'm sorry.

Sonic: I appreciate your apology and It's fine.

Rainbow Dash: No, it's not fine! Don't remember when I shot you in the leg and you lost your rings? I felt guilty for that.

Sonic: Well, it's okay. We can throw that in the past now, so no need to blame yourself.

Rainbow Dash: [Turned towards Sonic] Really?

Sonic: Of course. I know you didn't mean to do it. It was an accident. And everyone makes mistakes sometimes. But... is there something else you want to say?
