He'd be so scared to even touch his child because he thought he might kill them so he sorta distanced himself from you guys. Worries he'll be like his father and hates himself for that. He knows at some point he might snap at your child and he's terrified so he doesn't stay around you for long. It makes him sad because he loves you and wants to see his child grow but is paranoid. Asks Toga to take care of you and freaks out when she isn't with you. After two months,he puts his paranoia aside because he wants to be there for you so he warms back up to you. After alot of convincing,He knows that if he tries,he won't be like his father. He says that, everytime he looks at you,He can see himself being a good father and parenting well by your side. Your his hope that his child will love him and he'll be okay. Doubts himself alot but pushes it aside for you and the baby. He's an atheist in my AU but he'll pray to whatever you believe in above that his kid won't grow up to be like him.
