Royal Court Of England
Princess Josette's 18th Birthday Celebration

"Her Royal Highness, Princess Josette" A voice boomed loudly as I walked into the ballroom that my birthday celebration was now taking place. I gracefully began to walk into the room, taking step by step. Applause scattered around the room as I smiled, giving small 'thank you's' to the near guests "Princess" I heard a voice behind me, causing me to quickly spin around "King Henry, how nice to see you" I spoke before curtseying "Same for you" He smiled "My son spoke to me about the arrangement the two of you were setting up" He spoke, becoming a bit quieter. He looked around, making sure no one was playing any attention to the two of us before grasping my elbow lightly and pulling me to the side of the room "What are you thoughts, Henry?" I whispered "Princess, you have to understand that this can not be all under my doubt, but there is something I know I can do" "Go on, please" I ushered "First of all" Henry started "Are you really that interested in my son to go through all of this?" "Henry, I will be truly honest with you" I started "I may have some sort of feelings for your son, but putting all foolishness aside, I have thought it over and as the future ruler of England, I am confident that an alliance between France and England would be the most intelligent decision any of us could ever make. Henry, you and even I, one day, are rulers of two of the most powerful nations n the world. Could you imagine if France and England came together? We would be absolutely unstoppable" "You do make a very perspicacious point, Princess. Please inform me, have you told the King and Queen about you Little idea yet?" King Henry inquired "Well, no, not exactly, but I have no doubt that once I make my point to them just like I did to you that they would be on board with the idea. After all, I am the future of my country and my mother and father have always told me of how I must begin to pay close attention to the politics that go on around here. What better way to start learning the politics than actually getting into them myself, am I correct?" I smirked a bit, confident in my speech "Princess, you will be a remarkable Queen one day. Let's hope that all works out and I can dismantle the alliance with Scotland, but in the mean time, I don't see anything wrong with you taking a little vacation to the French Court" "Thank you, Henry. I do appreciate your kindness and effort. If for some reason this doesn't all work out, then I will have enjoyed a nice vacation at the French Court with some old friends, right?" I chuckled as King Henry lifted up my hand to kiss it. I did a small curtesy before King Henry turned away, meeting up with his wife, Catherine. I looked around the room, searching for my ladies. I ordered them to let loose for once and have a nice time, so they better be doing as I said. In the corner of the room, Kamille is dancing with a young suitor, who she had actually mentioned to me a few days back. Jade and Serena sat at one of the round tables, sipping on wine and laughing with each other and a few other ladies that have traveled here from around Europe. I looked to my right to see a servant holding a tray with glasses of fine wine set on it. The servant took a small bow as I smiled down at him. I gladly took a glass before the servant bowed once more, then walked away. With my wine in hand, I began to strut around the crowed room, smiling at some of the familiar guests that I have welcomed into my home "Excuse me, Miss. I don't mean to be a bother, but I was hoping I could possibly steal a dance from the breathtaking princess" I turned to see Francis, his wide, dorky smile spread across his face. I chuckled lightly at his silliness "I'm sorry, but the breathtaking princess was told that she was only allowed to dance with her suitors" I joked as he pretended to look hurt, his hand flying up and over his chest "Well, what a shame. You don't think the princess would bend the rules a little bit for a man that is head over heels for her?" "Well, the princess does love a good charmer. I suppose she could spare you one dance" I smiled as he gently took my hand  in his "Good. I was getting quite worried for a moment there" He chuckled as he lead me towards the dance floor "I discussed the issue with your father" I spoke, seriously this time, as we began to dance "So I've heard. He thinks it's a wonderful idea overall. But, Josie, we did forget one slight issue" Francis spoke, taking a breath as I have him a questioning look. I feel like I've thought over everything. I don't know what I would possibly be missing "What do you mean, Francis?" I questioned, taking a sharp intake of breath "We haven't exactly thought over all of the breaking alliance with Scotland details. Yes, we may be able to break the alliance with Scotland, but that also means we would be breaking the alliance with Mary. I don't know how she would react if she found out that two of her childhood best friends were plotting to break the alliance with her, so that they could be together" Francis slowly spoke as I took in every detail. How could I forget about Mary? My blood relative, my friend...Well,
ex-friend "Through all of this, I completely forgot about my friendship with Mary" I spoke as I stood still in the middle of the large dance floor. I put my hand over my forehead in exhaustion at the sudden news "How could it be so stupid?" "You are most definitely not stupid, Josette" Francis spoke, looking down to me. I met eyes with him once more before tiring from the dance floor and making my way out of the ballroom "Well, I surely feel stupid. Sure, I came up with a very intelligent plot to possibly be with you, but I completely disregarded Mary's feelings in this whole situation"'I rushed, turning around to Francis who was previously hot on my heels when I exited the ballroom "Josette, you are a generous and kind-hearted person. I am confident that you and Mary will get through this. You can talk to her after my father and your parents figure out all of the details. The two of you have a friendship that can not just be lost because of an issue in the system of our royal lives. You will get through this, Jose" Francis spoke, grasping my cheeks "We will get through this"
