Royal Court Of England

"Princess, you must awaken. The guests for your birthday ball tomorrow evening will be arriving soon and your mother wanted me to make sure you are dressed in your best attire to greet all of the royal families who will be attending the hall that is being held in your honor" The familiar voice of my dearest
lady-in-waiting, Jade, spoke. My eyes fluttered open, being met with the gleam of light streaming into the tiled floor of my chambers "Good morning, my dear Jade" I smiled as she handed me my satin robe "It is quite a beautiful day" "You are in a good mood this morning, miss" Jade smiled as I sat down at the small tea table in the corner of my room "Will you bring me some tea?" I asked one of the servants who had just walked into the room delivering fresh liners as Jade walked out of my wardrobe with one of my finest gowns. The servant quickly nodded before exiting the room "Where are Serena and Kamille?" I asked my lady "Your grace, they have been summoned by your mother to help set up for your hall. They have barely gotten any rest, considering the amount of preparations necessary for your gathering" "The poor girls" I sighed, sipping the tea that the servants had just brought me "They work so hard. I must give you three tomorrow off" "Princess, we must politely decline. It will be your birthday and you will need your help getting ready" Jade spoke quickly as I stood up. She tied up my corset before helping me step into my darkened blue gown "I am your Princess and I am ordering you to take tomorrow off. Think of it as a nice birthday gift from you to me. Enjoy yourselves" I spoke as Jade set my diamond tiara on my head of my brunette hair. I stopped her, grabbing onto her elbows as she looked at me with a courteous smile before thanking me and assuring me that the second the clock strikes midnight tomorrow, she would be back at my side, assume sting me with anything I need "You are too kind, Jade. You, Kamille and Serena. You all work too hard" "Only for you, Princess Josette" Jade smiled before she bid her goodbye and left. Once my gown was perfectly fit into my body, my brunette hair curled back effortlessly, and my tiara faultlessly set upon my head, I began to make my way down to the throne room where the festivities would be taking place tomorrow night. I know that must be where my beloved parents are hectically finalizing the preparations for my celebration "Mother" I called out to my gorgeous mother who happened to be Mary I. She is the Queen of England and Ireland, and she holds the position of Queen Consort of Spain, since she is married to my father, Philip II of Spain "Darling, you look marvelous. How was your slumber?" She asked as she walked over to me, wrapping her arm around my shoulder as we walked down the hallway "Wonderful" I smiled up at her "Mother, is it really necessary to have such an outrageous ball? I really do not need this much attention" I assured her, but she brushed me off, giving me a stern look "Josette, your father and I worked hard to get almost every royal family in Europe here to celebrate your birthday with us. We've been preparing for this celebration for months. I will not allow you to be back unappreciative" "No, mother, it's not that I'm unappreciative, I just feel horrible that you've wasted so much time and effort on my birthday" "It won't just be the future Queen of England's birthday. It will be my beautiful daughter's birthday" My mother smiled, planting a light kill upon my forehead "Darling, the guests should be arriving quite soon. Would you be a dear and good fetch your aunt while I go grab your father? She should be in her chambers" "Of course, mother. I will get right to it0 I smiled until at my elated mother as she turned around and went to continue finalizing all of the details "I can not believe my baby girl is going to be eighteen" I heard my mother mutter under her breath, making me chuckle to myself. I spun around to head to my Aunt Elizabeth's chambers. On my way there I looked out of one of the castle windows to see multiple carriages already arriving. I can't believe so many people are here for me. If I am correct the majority of the royal families that are coming to visit have travelled over long distances "Elizabeth" I knocked on the mahogany door "It's Josie. Mother asked for me to fetch you, so that we could begin greeting all of the guests" "Coming!" I heard her bright voice on the other side of the door. The door opened to reveal Elizabeth and her fiery red ringlets "Good morning, darling. How is the almost birthday girl, feeling?" "Wonderful. Thank you for asking" I smiled as we made our way down to the front castle gates. We met up with my mother and father who were just about ready to walk outside to begin to greet the fellow royals. Elizabeth dismissed herself to go stand off with some of the other ladies, who would not be announced "Hello, father" I spoke, kissing his check "Hello, my Princess. You look spectacular "" My father spoke. Through the cracked doors my eyes met multiple carriages that had a few people beginning to step out of them. The royal guests began to crowd around the front of the castle, seeming to greet each other "Before we are announced, we must inform you of serious business" "What is it, father? Is something wrong?" I asked concerned "No, dear, nothing is wrong. As you know, your grandfather is the Holy Roman Emperor" My father spoke and I gestured for him to continue "He has just announced you as his successor. God forbid he passes away, you, my dear Josette, will be the Holy Roman Empress. One day, your mother and I, as well as your grandfather will be gone and you will be the one who will have to continue to carry out our doings. We know you will succeed in your tasks" The shock was evident on my face as my eyes widened, my chin practically resting on the floor. Before I could say anything, horns began to sound as the castle doors opened wide
"Queen Mary I of England and Ireland and her husband, King Consort of England, Philip II of Spain" A voice called out. My mother and father walked arm in arm down the steps of the castle, as each of the royal guests bowed their heads to them. More horns began to sound as I knew what would happen next. I straightened out my gown once more and situated my tiara on my head as a sly smirk crept across my face. All eyes were on me, the future Queen of England, Ireland, and possibly Spain, as well as the future Holy Roman Empress. I have to make an outlasting first impression on all of the other royalty of Europe.
"Future Queen of England and Ireland, as well as the newly announced succeeding
Holy Roman Empress, Princess Josette"
