arya's pov:

my phones screen stopped ringing, waiting for an answer, which i how had. billie hadn't answered me, so i took the L at this point and threw my phone across the room, hearing it's glass back hit the hard floor

of course, i regretted that decision as soon as i get it leave my hands

i picked myself up from my bed and i slowly made my way across the cold floor to my phone

although i couldn't go back and stop myself from taking the actions i did with my phone, due to a bit of frustration in the moment, i still did the normal deep breaths and self talk before seeing what had happened

please, don't be broken

please, don't be broken

i reached my hand down and picked my phone over so i could see if my screen was damaged

my jaw dropped

not because of what you think, but because literally nothing happened to it

i could have sworn i heard that shit shatter

at that moment, it also clicked that i probably overreacted about billie not answering, and continued on with my day

***

it's now about 9:20 here in chicago, so it's like 7:20 in los angeles, where billie lives

i decided to call her one last time, before calling it an early night, and heading to bed

honestly, i'm fully expecting her not to answer because i'm pretty sure she's mad at me. don't ask why. this is just how my brain works

facetiming billie

she picked up after like 0.2 seconds, which was a bit sooner than i'm used to, but hey, i'm not about to complain

holy shit.

she did that-

she really did that-

"hold on, is this the right billie"

"if you were looking for billie o'connell, then yes. yes, it is"

"damn bitch"

she hummed, but knew damn well what i was talking about

"brown hair suits you so fucking well"

"thank youu"

i knew she just wanted that compliment, but what i was saying wasn't a lie, so i don't even mind

every hatred that i had had for billie in the past, felt like it suddenly disappeared, never to be thought of again

except i know how i work

nothing lasts

ever.

***

billie's pov:

i declined arya's call earlier, but when she called again like an hour later, i picked up right away, eager for her to see my new hair. desperate for her opinion and compliments that i receive on every occasion

we talked for what felt like hours, but it was truly just like ten minutes, until dinner was ready

no one at home has seen what i did today, so i'm excited to show everyone

and by everyone, i mean it

okay, not everyone but finneas and claudia came over again today

this time we were having my favorite soup as our main course

we don't have this often as a meal, but i really enjoy making it as an appetizer and what not

tofu noodle soup.

i love that shit

every time we have it, my mom literally makes three servings of it for me, but you know what? no, i'm not ashamed of that

it's good stuff

if you tried it, you'd eat as much of it as i do too, so i don't want to hear it

anyways, i made my way down the steps, noticing everyone sitting on their phones at the table, waiting to begin until i sat down

i tiptoed over so no one realized i was coming until i sat down

when i made it to the table, with no glances at me yet, i sat down normally and didn't act like anything was up. i sat patiently until someone realized i was there, which took way longer than i was expecting

eventually, like three whole minutes later, claudia looked up for a second, back down at her phone, then back up again with wide eyes

"woah!"

at that, everyone looked at her, confused what was going on

"yo stop looking at me. look at the brown haired bitch who's sitting over there"

i smiled at what she called me

"billie, why didn't you tell me you were doing this?" my mom said, concerned, as always

my dad was the complete opposite "that's so cool"

and of course, finneas just sat there with his jaw dropped, looking back and forth from me to claudia. the two of them had identical expressions, and were doing the same thing, which cracked me up so much

"alright mom, i just needed to do something out of impulse. it's not a big deal"

"i didn't say it was" she said defensively

i'm not in the mood to argue right now, so i just let her comment go, even though she was definitely wrong here

___

so this happened the other day

i just didn't write about it until now, but eh

suggestions?

predictions?

i love you
