He prayed to the Führer, asking for help and guidance, and praising him for what he had done for his country. Klaus smelt the smoke of guns and explosions as he held himself tight inside of the trench. The smoke came in, creeping in, getting ready to take lives. He looked up at the poisonous gas, and thought of the Führer while his life was sucked out of him.
