A Red Diamond

Rarest of rare gems
Reddest of the red,
Redder than a ruby,
And crimson like dark blood,
Rare she was;
Like a red diamond.

Unbreakable, unstoppable and rare
Bright crimson yet all shades of red
Glimmer she did,
And shining was her work.
Shine she did,
Like a polished intricate work.
Her qualities were too
Rare and unique
Her smile was endearing
and unique like herself.
Provided it did,
A warmth and shelter to lost, cold souls.

But that crimson shade is gone,
The glimmer? Oh it turned dusty.
The glass like texture which once shone,
Now was matt like a cotton cloth.
No shimmer, no glimmer and no rarity.

This crimson diamond fell out of grace;
and Lost its only quality which birthed its all qualities,
The uniqueness now gone,
she shattered and became tattered.
Rusty and black from the filth,
until the crimson diamond was gone.
Until there only lay the red powder;
The rubble of its former glory.
