The short honeymoon ended and the two arrived in Sheng Jin City, staying in the Jeon Residence for most of the day. Xin Lisa gifted the exquisite presents the two had chosen along their trip for each elder.

Old man Jeon was rocking on his rattan chair and he smiled happily. “Granddaughter-in-law, you’re finally back. There’s someone who can play chess with this old man now.”

Jungkook who was elegantly pouring tea said without raising his head, “My wifey won’t be playing chess with you.”

When old man Jeon heard this, he grabbed the cane by his side and slammed it against Jungkook’s slender legs.

Although Jungkook’s gaze was on the teacup, he quickly moved his legs and successfully dodged old man Jeon’s attack.

Xin Lisa who stood behind Jungkook and was talking to Weng Jennie held her breath as she saw old man Jeon waving his cane towards him. She was frightened that Jungkook might suffer a beating, but thankfully he seamlessly dodged it.

She couldn’t help but gasp and then say, “Grandfather!”

Weng Jennie stood across from her and naturally saw how frightened she was. She patted Xin Lisa’s hands and smiled, saying, “You don’t need to be nervous. Your grandfather and him have always been acting this way since Jungkook was a child.” For the majority of the times, unless Jungkook purposefully endured the beating, otherwise based on the old man’s moves, how could he land a hit on Jungkook?

When Jungkook heard this, he smiled at the old man Jeon and said, “I have a wife now, so take it easy.”

What Jungkook wanted to say was that he has a wife who loves him dearly; however, he was scared that he might provoke this lonely old man. Therefore, he changed his word choice in the end.

“Stop being proud. Plus, I wasn’t asking for your opinion. I was asking for my granddaughter-in-law’s.”

“My opinion is her opinion.”

Old man Jeon coldly humphed. “You think we’re in a feudal dynasty? Men being the head of the family has already been out of date.”

Jungkook didn’t care about this. “I have the final say no matter what.” With Xin Lisa’s non-existent chess skills, she would probably be bullied for a few years by grandfather and still wouldn’t stand a chance against him.

He could bully her however he wanted to.

But he would not allow for other people to do so.

Jungkook  finished pouring the tea and stood up, saying, “Wifey, let’s go over to father-in-law and mother-in-law’s house while it’s still early.”

“Ok.” Xin Lisa nodded.

She had prepared gifts for Jeon Family’s elders, so she naturally prepared some for her family too.

She already told Jeon Family’s elders that she would be eating at the Xin Family.

Once Weng Jennie heard this, she responded, “Ok, quickly go. If you’re going to stay there for dinner too, give us a call.”

Xin Lisa nodded and before she left, she smiled and said to old man Jeon, “Grandfather, when I have time, I’ll come back and play chess with you!”

Old man Jeon nodded in satisfaction. He looked at Jungkook and purposefully dragged his words, “As expected, my granddaughter-in-law is more considerate.”

Weng Jennie smiled and agreed. “Father, I think so too.”

Jungkook didn’t care and said to Xin Lisa, “Wifey, do you hear this? It’s better if we have a daughter in the future.”

A cute daughter that looks like him…Xin Lisa was touched by the thought.

How could they control whether they give birth to a girl or boy?

Instead, Xin Lisa retorted, “If I give birth to a boy, then…”

Jungkook believed that this was a very easy issue to resolve. “If we get a boy, let’s continue to try hard to get a girl.”
