Chapter 3

I took a little bit of negotiating from Dom, and a tracker on my ankle for the guards to allow me to leave with him.  The dinner actually wasn't that exciting, we went, we ate, we left, but it was still fun.

"What's the worst part of being a Powerless?" Dom asked me.

"Not being able to do everything for myself."

"I'll do the stuff for you."

"Really?"

"Yeah, sure.  Like what?"

I paused.  "I would ask you to hit Alpha when he's being cocky,"

"I can't hit him all the time."

I laughed.  Dom was really good at making me laugh.  "True.  But do it sometimes, otherwise it gets annoying."

"But I don't hit you when you're cocky and annoying."

"That's cuz I can crush you any day."

"Except right now."

I rolled my eyes.  "Yeah, sure."

"Come on.  Think it through.  I've got my powers, you don't.  If you narrowly beat me when you have your powers, you don't stand a chance against me when you don't."

I glared at him.  "That's it.  I'm done."  I was serious.  Making jokes like that really hurt my feelings.  I stood up and began to walk out.

"Ti, I didn't mean it like that."  I kept walking, but he super speeded over and grabbed my hand.

"I said I'm done."

"You have to stay with me," he responded.

"I don't have to do anything."

"You could get killed while you're by yourself."

"Like you care.  Nothing that you can say or do will change my mind."

Then he kissed me.

And I changed my mind.

"Do you want me to come with you now?" he asked.

"We have to go back to the complex now."

"We could go to the pool or something."

"There's a pool?" I asked.  "Then what have I been doing in the library?"

"You said you were reading."

I rolled my eyes.  "Yes, I was.  It was a rhetorical question."

"Ok then.  If you want to grab on my back, I can super speed us back."

I grabbed on to his back and next thing I knew, we were at the complex.

"That was fun.  Almost as much fun as flying," I said.

"And you always bring everything back to you."

"No I don't.  Fine.  Tell me something about you."

"Like what?"

"Something that I don't know."

"Let's see.  I like eating and I'm super strong and I organize sports games for the trainees."

"I mean something besides the obvious and goody-goody image of you."

"I am not a goody-goody."

"Then tell me something I don't know about you!"

"I think you're really pretty, even when you're mad."

Then this little kid came out of nowhere.  Literally.  He appeared right in front of us.

"Hi!  I'm Riptide!  But you can call me Rip."  He then made flexing motions with his arms, which didn't do much to showcase his muscle.

"Kid, what are you doing here?" Dom asked.

"I think he's Aqua's trainee."

"I'm not a trainee!  I'm a super hero!  A strong, awesome, ripped super hero!"

"Kid, you're not ripped.  I am."  Dom then flexed his biceps.

I laughed.  "Who's making everything about them now?" I asked him.

"You need more proof?  Fine."  Without hesitation, he took off his shirt.

My jaw dropped.

"Now you're impressed."

"Impressed?  Dom, how much time do you spend lifting weights?"

He shrugged.  "Most of it is natural.  Some of it's not."

"Hey, Rip?  Would you like to leave now?"

Rip sighed. "Fine."  He disappeared as easily as he came.

I walked back over to Dom and took his hand.

Then he threw me in the pool.

That killed the romance.

And almost me.

I didn't know how to swim, and I didn't know what to do, so I sunk.  A few seconds later, Dom lifted me up and brought me to the surface.

"And, what was that?" he asked.

"What was what?  You were the one that threw me in the pool!"

"Because you are always saying how you're so great!  And I thought it would be funny."

"Funny?!  And I always say I'm good at fighting, not swimming!  I don't know how to swim!"

"Your best friend is Aqua and you don't know how to swim?"

"Exactly.  I never need to once she creates that little bubble around me and has the current propel us."

"Ok, ok.  I didn't know.  Anything else I should know right now?"

"One of my favorite shoes is on the bottom of this pool because of you.  Put me on the side and go get it."

"Or I could just leave you here and go get it."

"Please go get my shoe, and then you can teach me how to swim."

"Don't you have to figure out a way to get your powers back before you lose them for good?"

"What?"

"You have to make sure your chemical structure doesn't shift so you can't have powers anymore."

"Then get us out of the pool!"

Kinda boring, lot's of dialogue, not lot's of action. Sorry. I just wanted to develop the relationship between Ti and Dom. I think they're a cute couple. Vote, comment, fan.
