Chapter 15: Tragedy Strikes

"Your beautiful. You know that right?" Keaton was playing with my hair and we

were laying on the beach, watching the waves roll In. "You make me believe it

every day." "Good," Keaton smiled down at me. "What are we gonna do today?" he

asked. "I don't know," I mumbled. I was already falling asleep. Keaton just made

me so relaxed and calm. Ugh. Of course my phone decided to ring. As I went to

grab it, Keaton laid his hand on top of mine telling me not to answer it. "It's

Andrea. I have to answer. Hello?" I answered. What I heard next shattered my

world forever. Andrea was in hysterics and soon I was too. "Keaton we have to

go," I sobbed. He grabbed my hand and turned me around to face him. "What's

wrong?" he demanded. "Now!" I screamed. I ran into Keaton's truck as he ran

after me. It seemed like everything was in slow motion.

I cried into Keaton's shoulder while he craddled me. My grandmother, the only

person that kept me strong, was being loaded into a herse. How could a woman so

strong and independent suddenly become so weak and need others to lift her to

the sky? "Shhh baby. It's okay," Keaton said trying to comfort me. "No it's not

okay Keaton. You weren't here through all the fighting. You weren't here when I

ran away. You don't know the whole story Keaton. I've been lying to you. It's so

much more than a torn down wall and a bad past. Don't tell me its okay!" I

yelled to Keaton. I snatched my hand away and ran. Running is all I ever did.

The tears flew back and anger was released. I ran a few blocks before screaming

and punching and kicking everything I could. Finally, I collapsed and the

blackness surrounded me.
